Holoko, a Japanese designer living in Taiwan, and Rob, a British programmer, recently joined forces to launch “Taiwan icon fonts”, hoping to convey the charm of Taiwan through free and continuously updated icon fonts.

“Icon Fonts” are actually, as the name suggests, small icons (icons) used as fonts. In addition to being able to be installed on the computer like other fonts, in web design, icons also have text features such as scalability and color change, and can be operated by loading CSS. The idea behind the first version of “Taiwan icon fonts” was to design “Icon Fonts” for “Taiwan tourism” attractions and provide them for use in Taiwan’s tourism industry, so as to draw the world’s attention to Taiwan, attract more tourists to Taiwan, and gradually increase the number of fans who like Taiwan as much as they do.
The current first edition of “Taiwan icon fonts” provides 100 icons, including attractions, food, imagery, etc., in wtf, wtf2, and svg formats for web use; and in otf format for desktop use, which can be used by Illustrator, Sketch, Word, PowerPoint and other software. Users can package the file on the download page and refer to the instructions for use.
Since “Taiwan icon fonts” is a collaboration between Japanese designers and British programmers, the Chinese description is still not smooth, and Japanese Chinese characters can also be seen in the icon description. Some people also mentioned that they hope to have more detailed authorization terms so that they can use it with confidence, but in any case, they can see that this group of foreigners who love Taiwan want to promote the charm of Taiwan in different ways.
