Like a real human colleague, it can reason on its own, delegate tasks, search for information, create content, remember context, write code, and deliver results. Users only need to use natural language to tell it the “end result” they want, and it will automatically break it down into multiple tasks and subtasks, then spawn “sub-agents” to execute them separately. For example, one sub-agent handles web research while another generates documents or calls external APIs.

Technically, Perplexity Computer employs a multi-model coordination mechanism, capable of dispatching up to 19 different AI models in total. According to official documentation, core reasoning uses Opus 4.6, with other models including: Gemini for deep research, Grok for lightweight fast tasks, ChatGPT 5.2 for long context memory, Nano Banana for image generation, Veo 3.1 for video creation, and more. The system automatically selects the most suitable model based on the task.
This feature runs entirely in the cloud with file system, browser, and tool integration capabilities. Users can securely access it without installing any programs or going through complex setup on their own computers, ensuring both convenience and data isolation.

After uploading a document, ask “Is NVIDIA undervalued? Update this model using the latest analyst forecasts, obtain valuation multiples and order data for AMD, AVGO, INTC, QCOM, TSMC, and ASML via the Polygon API. Then download their latest supplier and customer import/export data and visualize it in a web application. Re-execute this process each time earnings are released.”
