The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50 SUPER series is rumored to include three models: the RTX 5080 SUPER, RTX 5070 Ti SUPER, and RTX 5070 SUPER. This update does not introduce a brand-new GPU chip but instead doubles VRAM capacity and increases clock speeds. NVIDIA may switch to 3GB GDDR7 memory modules to replace the 2GB modules currently in use.
If that’s the case, then the VRAM capacities of these three graphics cards would be:
- RTX 5080 SUPER 24GB VRAM
- RTX 5070 Ti SUPER 24GB VRAM
- RTX 5070 SUPER 18GB VRAM

Many gamers and AI users, upon seeing this capacity, are surely eager for the release of these three models—but you might not be able to get your hands on them. According to a report by the foreign media outlet VideoCardz, a post by China’s Board Channel indicates that NVIDIA has reportedly briefed its graphics card partners (AIBs) on changes to the GeForce RTX 50 SUPER update plan, which will no longer proceed according to the original schedule.

As for the reasons, NVIDIA took the following factors into consideration:

- Price increases for memory-related products may be a long-term issue. Not only are VRAM chips expensive, but rising costs will also affect NVIDIA’s competitiveness in the global consumer graphics card market.
- The most important point is this: there are currently no reports that AMD will release a new generation of consumer-grade GPUs in 2026. The existing RTX 50 series remains competitive in the market, so the need for a “SUPER” update has been significantly reduced.
Simply put, production capacity is being reserved for products with higher profit margins, and VRAM is too expensive.
