As more and more AI Service added to AI AgentAs for the market, many people will definitely want to ask,Google When will they catch up? Based on the latest leaked information, it might not be far off! According to a report by Business Insider earlier, Google is internally testing a 24/7 personal AI agent, codenamed “Remy”, currently running on an employee-exclusive version of Gemini An app that can work across multiple Google services to handle multi-step tasks for users.

Google’s internal test codename “Remy” AI agent: proactively handles tasks for you 24/7 across Google services

According to Business Insider According to internal documents seen and two people with knowledge of the matter, Remy is currently in the dogfooding stage, meaning only Google employees are using it to catch bugs and polish the product. This is a common internal testing practice among tech companies, where products are tested by their own staff before release.

According to an internal document, Remy is positioned as: “Remy is your 24/7 personal agent for work, school, and daily life, powered by Gemini.” Simply put, Remy is a round-the-clock personal agent for work, school, and daily life, powered by Gemini.

If this actually rolls out, the Gemini App would upgrade from just a tool for answering questions and generating content to becoming a true assistant that gets things done for you.

In addition, another section of an internal document also provides details on related capabilities.

Deeply integrated across Google, Remy can monitor for things that matter to you, handle complex tasks proactively, and learn your preferences over time

Can be split into four functions

  1. “Deep cross-Google integration”: meaning Google services like Gmail, Google Calendar, Drive, Docs, Maps, and YouTube will all be connected.
  2. “Proactively monitoring what matters to you”: meaning Remy doesn’t passively wait for commands—it pays attention on its own.
  3. “Proactively Handle Complex Tasks”: Capable of executing multi-step workflows
  4. Learns your preferences over time with persistent memory capability

As for when it will be officially announced, Business Insider says there’s currently no set date for the public release.

Additionally, a Google spokesperson also declined to comment on this.

Google I/O 2026 will be held on May 19-20, and this year’s main focus will very likely be AI agents. It’s expected to unveil the next-generation Gemini flagship model, agent automation built into Android 17, and the Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform that was just announced at Google Cloud Next last month.

Remy leaked suddenly just two weeks before I/O, and since it’s already entered the internal testing phase, Google might even casually mention it during the event. It’s worth looking forward to.
