The fantasy open-world game *The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt*, released by CD Projekt Red in 2015, remains one of the most award-winning games of all time, Although the development team officially announced last year that *The Witcher 4* is in development, the game’s unique charm continues to captivate many players. Now, a brand-new fan-made mod gives players the chance to play with up to four friends.

Over the past 11 years, many modders have released numerous custom mods for this game, continuously enhancing the gameplay experience. Recently, a “multiplayer mode” mod was officially released, giving players the chance to team up with friends to play *The Witcher 3* together—and it’s already advanced enough to allow players to complete the entire main questline.
This brand-new mod for “The Witcher Online,” developed by designer rejuvenate, allows players to join an online server and explore the world of *The Witcher 3* with friends, playing as Geralt or other characters to experience the main story together. Although the creator did not explicitly state this in the mod description, based on the currently released screenshots and trailer, the mod supports up to five players, allowing each participant to customize their own character, perform various facial expressions and animations, and even type and chat.

This newly released multiplayer mod for *The Witcher 3* is now officially available on Nexus Mods The mod is available for players to download and install from the website. It works similarly to the “CyberMP” mod previously released for *Cyberpunk 2077*, bringing multiplayer gameplay to CDPR’s popular titles.
Simply put, every participating player must own a copy of the PC version of *The Witcher 3* and have it updated to version 4.04 or higher; both the Steam and GOG versions are compatible. Additionally, players must host their own server, which will then automatically connect to The Witcher online servers; only through this process can they launch *The Witcher 3* with mods installed.

As of now, the CDPR team has not announced an exact release date for *The Witcher 4*, but according to a recent report, *The Witcher 3* may release a “final DLC” later this year to bridge the story to *The Witcher 4*. Furthermore, another recent report suggests that the sequel’s marketing and promotional budget could reach as high as $800 million, making it one of the most expensive video games ever developed. But before the sequel officially arrives, players still have the chance to revisit *The Witcher 3* with friends using this mod.
