memoryThe price increase is too exaggerated, which also causes many people to want to upgrade.computer, DIY users can’t afford it, and they will definitely want to know when it will improve. Although there are no clear signs yet, there is at least good news starting to emerge. The latest foreign statistical report points out that last month DDR5 Memory growth has slowed, and some memory kits have even seen price cuts.

Does Germany’s DDR5 price “pause rise” mean it has peaked? It seems that it has just risen too high and the increase has narrowed.
According to a report by foreign media Tom’s Hardware, 3DCenter.org recently analyzed DDR5 price trends among German retailers and pointed out that the current increase has stalled. From the price in mid-January to the end of the month, the average increase in 20 DDR5 memory sets was only 0.1%, which was not as exaggerated as the 93% increase in December:
But it is worth noting that it can be clearly seen from the table that the increase before mid-January was actually as high as 27.6%. More importantly, from August last year to now, the average price of DDR5 memory in Germany has increased by as much as 340%. So overall, it does not feel like the price increase has stopped, but that it has now risen too high, and few consumers are willing to pay. The subsequent increase will not be as exaggerated as before.
3DCenter.org also added in the report:
DDR5 記憶體價格近期出現止穩跡象。然而,這是否代表 2025~2026 年這波記憶體危機已達價格高峰,仍難以斷定,因為從供應端來看,價格進一步上漲的壓力仍然存在。
Tom’s Hardware also recently studied the cheapest product listings on Geizhals, a well-known German price comparison platform, and the results also showed that there have been almost no price increases in the past two weeks or so, and some sets have even seen price cuts. For example, the price of a 64 GB (2×32 GB) DDR5-6000 set has dropped by about 15% compared to early January, with the average selling price falling from 699 euros to 596 euros.

Now comes the bad news.
TrendForce also recently released a memory price forecast report, which mentioned that the continued growth of AI and data center demand in the first quarter of 2026 will aggravate the global memory supply and demand imbalance. Therefore, the price forecast of DRAM and NAND Flash in the first quarter of 2026 has been significantly revised upward.

The quarterly growth rate of general DRAM contract prices has been raised from the original estimate of 55-60% to 90-95%; NAND Flash has also been raised from 33-38% to 55-60%. More importantly, the possibility of another upward revision cannot be ruled out in the future.
The mobile phone segment is no exception. TrendForce estimates that the contract prices of LPDDR4X and LPDDR5X will increase by about 90% simultaneously in the first quarter of 2026, setting the highest single-quarter increase in history. This also means that the new mobile phones launched this year will most likely be more expensive than in previous years.
The SSD part is not optimistic either. As the supply gap continues to expand and buyers are actively hoarding goods, TrendForce believes that enterprise-level SSD prices will increase by 53-58% quarter-on-quarter in the first quarter of 2026, once again setting a new historical single-quarter increase record.
