In addition to Yoko Taro in the new work, the director of “Evangelion: The Movie” Kazuya Tsurumaki, and the original artist Hajime Yatate will participate in this new animation. As for reasons, composer Keiichi Okabe, who has collaborated with Yoko Taro in “NieR” and “Blood Dragon Knight” and composed music for the “Tekken” series, will also produce the soundtrack for this new series. As for the plot, the official has not announced many details yet, only emphasizing that this will be a “completely new work.”

The original TV animation “Neon Genesis Evangelion” was broadcast from 1995 to 1996 and achieved great success all over the world. The first theatrical version “Neon Genesis Evangelion: Air/My Heart Is For You” (The End of Evangelion), launched in 1997, provided a different ending for the TV version.
Between 2007 and 2021, the series once again launched a new four-part theatrical version, and the final chapter “Evangelion New Theatrical Version: The End” even generated a box office of more than 10 billion yen in Japan.
Unfortunately, Gainax, the studio that produced the original animation, officially folded in December after a series of scandals and legal battles with Studio Khara. Regarding this development, Hideaki Anno himself described it as a “truly regrettable ending.”
