Just last week at the Pokémon Day event, Nintendo and The Pokémon Company finally announced to fans the long-rumored new tenth-generation Pokémon game, Pokémon: Wind and Wave, and confirmed that it will be exclusively available on the Nintendo Switch 2 platform in 2027. In addition to the game graphics, scenes, and protagonist’s appearance, the one that has caused the most discussion is of course the newly launched Pokémon from the Three Houses.

From the official first trailer, players can see the looks of the grass-type “Yebei”, the fire-type “Bomgeng” and the water-type “Miaomi”. After the press conference, the official website of “Pokémon: Wind and Waves” was officially launched, providing players with more details, and the characteristics of the three royal families and other details were also released simultaneously.

Among them, the characteristic of Leafbrow is listed as “luxuriant”, which is a common characteristic of the three grass-type Pokémon in the past. When the Pokémon’s health value is less than one-third, it can increase the damage of grass-type attacks. The fire-type dog Pokémon Boomerang’s characteristic is “Fierce”, which is basically the fire-type version of “Lush”. As for Miriam’s characteristic “Riptide”, it also has the same effect, but it enhances the water-type moves.
At present, it seems that the tenth era of “Pokémon” still continues the traditional three-family balanced design of the series. As for the subsequent evolutionary forms and hidden characteristics, more details have yet to be revealed by The Pokémon Company at this stage.

The main RPG of the “Pokémon” series has always been known for being easy to get started, and the three Pokémon and their evolved forms can basically accompany players from the beginning until they win the championship. However, since “Pokémon: Wind and Waves” is set in an archipelago-like terrain in Southeast Asia, and diving and water exploration will be a major focus of this game, many players believe that the chances of encountering water-type Pokémon will be more frequent in this game. Therefore, the grass-type Leafbird has become their first choice. Of course, players who choose Bomgeng or Miaomier can still cope with attribute disadvantages or gain advantages by continuing to expand their teams.
“Pokémon: Wind and Waves” is currently expected to be launched in 2027, and detailed information has yet to be further officially disclosed.
