MediaTek officially unveiled its new flagship 5G Agentic AI chip series, the “Dimensity 9600 Pro” and “Dimensity 9600 M,” heralding smartphones’ official entry into a new era of proactive sensing and deep AI collaboration. The first flagship models equipped with these two new chips will launch successively in the near future.
MediaTek’s first 2nm flagship 5G Agentic AI chip, the Dimensity 9600 Pro, has been officially announced.
Dimensity 9600 Pro: A Performance and AI Monster Built on 2nm
As the most powerful chip ever in the Dimensity series, the Dimensity 9600 Pro adopts TSMC’s latest 2nm process, aided by DTCO technology, and features an all-new “2+3+3” all-big-core CPU architecture with a maximum clock speed of 4.55GHz. In terms of performance, it not only improves single-core performance by 17% and multi-core performance by 15%, but also reduces multi-core peak power consumption by 61%. In addition, it is the industry’s first flagship processor to support LPDDR6 memory and UFS5 flash storage.
Dual NPU architecture, empowering on-device Agentic AI
- Low-Power Sensing: The second-generation ultra-energy-efficient NPU slashes power consumption by 40%, enabling phones to have “always-on proactive sensing” capabilities at extremely low power.
- Advanced AI computing: The 10th Gen NPU 1090 boosts large language model Prefill performance by 51% and tokens generated per watt by 55%, and supports up to 30B mixture-of-experts (MoE) models running smoothly on mobile.
Ray Tracing and Rendering Upgrades, Console-Level Esports Experience
Equipped with the G2-Ultra NX GPU, peak performance is increased by 27%, and ray tracing performance is substantially increased by 18%. Combined with the all-new Dimensity Neural Network Rendering Architecture and StarSpeed Engine technology, it not only easily drives an ultra-high frame rate of 185fps, but also maintains long-lasting, stable low-power output.
Breakthrough Visual and Display Transmission
Integrating the Imagiq 1290 ISP with powerful AI computing, it delivers all-in-focus computational optics and 60fps motion tracking autofocus; for video, it introduces the industry’s first 4K 240fps native ultra-slow-motion recording and 17EV high dynamic range. For display and connectivity, it supports 1-nit ultra-dark dynamic clarity, full-chain BT.2020 color, AI Network Selection 2.0, and cross-border triple-SIM triple-active roaming.
Dimensity 9600 M: A New Smooth Choice for Mainstream Flagships

This chip likewise inherits core hardware-software collaborative technologies such as the Agentic AI Engine 3.0, Dimensity Scheduling Engine, and StarSpeed Engine.
