This special edition mobile phone with the pure pedigree of Leica Red Label not only symbolizes a milestone in the deep integration of two major imaging brands, but also represents the comprehensive integration of Leica’s century-old optical technology and Xiaomi’s cutting-edge mobile technology, working together to break through the traditional mobile photography framework and create a new generation of flagship imaging experience.

Xiaomi 17 Series comes to Taiwan, showing the true nature of Leica’s pure blood
Leica Centenary Edition: Leica Leitzphone powered by Xiaomi
At this press conference, Xiaomi announced that it will jointly launch a century-old special edition mobile phone with Leica – Leica Leitzphone powered by Xiaomi. The classic red logo symbolizing the spirit of Leica on the back cover not only represents Leica’s high recognition of the imaging specifications of Xiaomi 17 Ultra, but also symbolizes that the cooperation between the two parties has entered a new stage.

In terms of hardware design, this special edition introduces the “Master Zoom Ring” to a mobile phone for the first time. The integrated precision mechanical structure can detect a minimum displacement of 0.03mm, making zoom adjustments more delicate and intuitive. Coupled with motor vibration feedback that simulates a real camera, users feel as if they are holding a professional zoom camera when operating, and can quickly capture every wonderful moment in the most natural way. The software level also comprehensively deepens the Leica vocabulary. Xiaomi has created a new Leica adjustment interface, and introduced Leica’s exclusive UI/UX design, camera fonts and charging animations. From the visual to the operational details, it continues Leica’s consistent classic style. Whether a photography novice or a professional player, they can easily get started and immerse themselves in the pure creative process.

In addition, the special edition also provides a complete exclusive Leica experience, including paid versions of Leica classic filters and a carefully crafted exclusive gift box, which contains a magnetic protective case (with a rotatable decorative ring), a Leica logo lens cover, a Leica-specific audition cloth and a classic red lanyard, showing the Leica century-old brand aesthetics and sense of ritual in every detail.

Xiaomi 17 Ultra
With a thickness of only 8.29mm and a weight of 218.4g, Xiaomi 17 Ultra becomes the slimmest Ultra series in history. Equipped with a 6.9-inch HyperRGB OLED professional screen, the sub-pixels are rearranged to improve clarity and reduce energy consumption. At the same time, it has passed TÜV triple eye protection certification of low blue light, zero flicker and rhythm-friendly, making it comfortable to watch for long periods of time.

Xiaomi 17 Ultra uses Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 flagship processor and Qualcomm Hexagon NPU, which can run smoothly whether it is large-scale games or multi-tasking. Paired with Xiaomi’s 3D dual-channel wing-type ring-type cold pump cooling system, it can maintain stable performance even after long-term use. The new generation of Xiaomi Pengpai battery is designed with 16% high silicon content, which greatly increases the energy density. The 17 Ultra is equipped with a large 6000mAh battery and supports 90W wired and 50W wireless fast charging, so you don’t have to worry about running out of power for a whole day of shooting.

Xiaomi 17 Ultra ushered in a major change this time and became the only smartphone in the world to obtain Leica APO optical certification. Equipped with Leica’s 200 million pixel 75mm–100mm telephoto lens, it enables continuous optical zoom from 75mm to 100mm on a mobile phone for the first time, effectively avoiding the image quality loss of traditional zoom lenses. No matter how many times the distant scene is magnified, the details can be kept rich and the image quality remains sharp.

Supporting up to 400mm lossless zoom, you can easily capture the birds on the roof, the distant city skyline, or the fleeting scenery while traveling. In terms of portrait shooting, the 17 Ultra covers four classic focal lengths of 75mm, 85mm, 90mm, and 100mm. With the new generation master portrait mode, it can naturally present the separation effect of people and scenes, making the characters more three-dimensional and the background more layered.

As for the main lens, Xiaomi 17 Ultra is equipped with the industry’s most powerful 1-inch large sensor, coupled with a large ƒ/1.67 aperture, the night scene imaging is pure and delicate. The new 1/1.4” HPE outsole sensor and Light Hunter 1050L further increase the amount of light, so that details and colors in the night can be faithfully presented. With LOFIC HDR technology, scenes with strong contrast between light and dark can be accurately restored, whether it is fireworks, moonlight or night street scenes, you can shoot very atmospheric images.

Xiaomi 17
With a lightweight size of 6.3 inches and a weight of 191g, Xiaomi 17 is an ideal choice for small-size flagship enthusiasts. 8.06mm thin and light body with AG frosted glass back panel, feels delicate in hand. The LIPO process is used to create a 1.18mm ultra-narrow four-sided screen frame, which greatly improves visual immersion. The custom-made M10 display panel can still be clearly seen under strong light, and for the first time, OLED circularly polarized light eye protection technology has been introduced, making it easier to watch TV series or work for a long time without getting tired.

Xiaomi 17 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 flagship processor, packs a massive 6330mAh battery into a thin and light body, and supports 100W wired fast charging, completely breaking the stereotype of insufficient battery life for small-sized phones.

Xiaomi 17 is also equipped with a new generation of Leica Summilux optical lens, which uses a 1G+6P glass-plastic hybrid lens to effectively reduce reflections, eliminate ghosting and glare, and keep the picture pure even under strong sunlight. It supports 60mm Leica floating telephoto, 5x optical-grade zoom, 10cm macro shooting and up to 20x AI UltraZoom, making it easy to handle portraits, telephoto and close-ups. For night photography, Xiaomi 17 is equipped with a 1/1.31” outsole sensor and Light Hunter 950, with a 13.5EV high dynamic range, which can present clear gradations and natural colors even in dim environments.
