To commemorate the 40th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda series, Nintendo has announced that a special edition console, the “Nintendo Switch 2 The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Edition,” will be released on October 29, 2026. The suggested retail price in Japan is 62,980 yen (tax included), and the console itself does not include game software.
The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Nintendo Switch 2 console will be announced on 10/29, and the special edition Pro Controller and carrying case will be released simultaneously.
This newly released commemorative console is themed around the 40th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda series, featuring the iconic “Triforce” emblem design on the back of the Nintendo Switch 2 console, the dock, and the Joy-Con 2 controllers, showcasing its rich commemorative collectible value.
In addition to the console itself, Nintendo will also be releasing several accessories in the same series at the same time, including the “Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller 《The Legend of Zelda》 40th Anniversary Edition (with Display Stand)” and the “Nintendo Switch 2 Carrying Case 《The Legend of Zelda》 40th Anniversary Edition (with Screen Protector),” allowing players to fully experience the commemorative atmosphere of the 40th anniversary with a complete set.
The “Nintendo Switch 2 The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Edition” includes a specially designed Nintendo Switch 2 console, Joy-Con 2 (L/R) controllers, Joy-Con 2 wrist straps, an exclusive design dock, as well as standard accessories such as a Joy-Con 2 grip, Nintendo Switch 2 AC adapter, USB-C charging cable, and Ultra High Speed HDMI cable.
The concurrently released “Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Edition (with display stand)” is scheduled for release on October 29, 2026, with a suggested retail price of 12,980 yen (tax included); the “Nintendo Switch 2 Carrying Case The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Edition (with screen protector)” will also launch the same day, with a suggested retail price of 3,980 yen (tax included).
Currently, the “Nintendo Switch 2 The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Edition” has been confirmed for release in Japan, North America, and Europe, with an official launch date of October 29, 2026. Release information for other regions is pending further announcements from the official source.
