Google Cloud officially launched two agentic AI solutions tailored for specific industries on August 25: Gemini Enterprise for Financial Services and Gemini Enterprise for Legal. This marks the first time Google’s enterprise AI platform, Gemini Enterprise, has introduced dedicated packages for vertical industries, including out-of-the-box AI agents, domain-specific skills, data connectors, and a third-party partner ecosystem.

Google Cloud launches Gemini Enterprise dedicated solutions for finance and legal
Over the past year, Google Cloud’s Gemini Enterprise platform has established a strong foothold in the enterprise market. According to Google Cloud CEO Thomas Kurian, making AI work in specific industries requires a combination of four elements: domain expertise encoded as reusable skills, secure connections to the systems and data organizations rely on, agents that can take action within real workflows, and an open ecosystem that can scale all of these capabilities. In finance and legal—two highly regulated sectors—general-purpose AI tools have consistently fallen short of meeting the industry’s strict requirements for security, explainability, and compliance.
Financial Services: A financial research agent with 50+ built-in skills.
Gemini Enterprise for Financial Services is designed for capital markets and corporate banking, with its core component being a Google-hosted Financial Research Agent that comes with over 50 built-in foundational skills, covering workflows such as credit risk assessment, portfolio monitoring, market news aggregation, and in-depth financial research.

The agent stands out for its complete explainability mechanisms: every reasoning step is accompanied by confidence scores, clearly defined research methods, auditable data snapshots, and precise source citations, so users always know exactly what the AI’s decisions are based on. The agent can connect directly to internal enterprise data sources via the Model Context Protocol (MCP), and supports Google’s newly released Agent2Agent (A2A) API, enabling integration with customers’ existing agent workflows.
For data connectivity, this solution integrates 13 major financial data providers in one stroke, including CoinDesk Data & Indices, Daloopa, Dun & Bradstreet, FactSet, Finnhub, London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG), Moody’s, MSCI, PitchBook, S&P Global, and SEC Edgar, enabling financial research agents to securely access licensed data sources directly within the client environment.
In addition, Google Cloud has also opened up a third-party agent ecosystem, including Dun & Bradstreet’s business verification agent (KYC compliance), FlowX agent (loan document checking and reconciliation), Obin financial agent (private market financial analysis), and multiple data retrieval and energy outlook agents from S&P Global.
Currently, Gemini Enterprise for Financial Services has been adopted by CME Group, and Deutsche Bank is a key design partner for financial research agents. Other financial institutions that have adopted it include BNY, Citi Wealth, Lloyds Banking Group, and Macquarie Bank.
Legal services: comprehensive coverage from contract review and due diligence to regulatory compliance monitoring.
Gemini Enterprise for Legal targets the pain points of law firms and corporate legal departments. In an official blog post, Google Cloud CEO Thomas Kurian noted that general-purpose AI tools cannot provide the strict confidentiality, ethical walls, verified legal authority, and complete data isolation that legal work demands. When lawyers review contracts or prepare cases, they deal with highly confidential client information, firm-specific work guidelines, and a constantly shifting regulatory landscape. General-purpose AI may be strong enough at the level of foundation model intelligence, but it still falls far short of the security standards required in the legal profession.

This solution includes professional skills built specifically for legal agents, guiding AI agents through time-consuming legal tasks such as contract lifecycle management, legal brief drafting, citation verification, regulatory horizon scanning, and data subject access requests (DSAR) fulfillment. Its data connectors support MCP integration, enabling secure connections to core legal industry platforms including Docusign, Everlaw, Harvey, iManage, Legora, NetDocuments, RelativityOne, Solve Intelligence, and Thomson Reuters. With these agentic AI tools, legal professionals can search historical case law for research, construct complex arguments, and automate tedious repetitive tasks.
In terms of legal tech partners, Google has brought together multiple consulting and systems integrators, including Accenture, Deloitte, Devoteam, Eudia, Factor Law, KPMG, Tribe AI, Valtech, Zazmic, Zencore, and 66degrees, giving enterprises professional team support when implementing AI.
Industry competition is heating up, with Thomson Reuters and Anthropic expanding in tandem.
Reuters reported that Google’s entry with Gemini Enterprise for Legal comes at a time of rapidly intensifying competition in legal technology. Thomson Reuters, which is also Reuters’ parent company, launched its own proprietary large language model, Thomson 1.0, the day before Google’s announcement. The model is built on open-source technology and trained on decades of its accumulated legal research content, clearly aiming to defend its dominant position in the legal AI market.
AI competitors like Anthropic have also been expanding their enterprise-grade services, with particularly aggressive moves in the legal sector. In its 2026 report on AI adoption in the legal industry, Deloitte noted that law firms are investing heavily in the technology, but the transformation is still in its early stages, leaving early movers with a window to capture market share.
Data security and governance: all data remains within the client
Data security and governance are the top concerns for all customers. Google Cloud emphasizes that these industry solutions are built on the Gemini Enterprise platform, whose data governance model ensures that customers’ business rules, intellectual property, custom agents, and model outputs remain within the organization and are fully confidential. Risk management, audit logs, and governance mechanisms are natively built into the platform architecture, providing a complete technology stack from infrastructure and models to the application layer. In finance and legal—two highly regulated industries—the most fundamental requirement is that data cannot leak externally, and Gemini Enterprise addresses this at the architectural level from the ground up.
Two solutions are now available in preview to Google Cloud customers worldwide. Google Cloud also previewed that more tailored packages for different industries will be launched in the future.
