In early March 2026, when foreign media NotebookCheck conducted a routine evaluation of Chuwi CoreBook After disassembling the machine and checking the OPN number on the processor, I found that the number printed on the chip is “100-000000375”, which corresponds to the older Ryzen 5 5500U, not the officially labeled Ryzen 5 7430U:

Then I bought another CoreBook Plus for cross-verification, and the results were exactly the same. It also contained Ryzen 5 5500U. Two laptops of different models have the same problem.
After the notebook counterfeiting incident was exposed, Chuwi’s agent Hanke began a comprehensive inventory of its own inventory. It was found that not only the previously named CoreBook X and CoreBook Plus, but also Chuwi’s mini computer “Ubox 7430U” also had the same problem. It also claimed to be equipped with Ryzen 5 7430U, but it was actually equipped with Ryzen 5 5500U.

in addition, NotebookCheck reader reports Chuwi CoreBook Plus and another brand Ninkear’s A15 Pro use the same motherboard. The motherboard manufacturer is Shenzhen Emdoor Digital, a Chinese ODM foundry that specializes in producing “white label” hardware, which is then OEM-sold by different brands. Therefore, its roots are likely not just Chuwi, but this foundry. But this part has not been confirmed yet, it is just speculation at this stage:

At present, Chuwi has not responded directly to the incident itself, except for previously asking NotebookCheck to remove the article. As for AMD, HKEPC reported that it has issued a formal statement stating that it is completely unaware of this matter, has never authorized, confirmed or acquiesced in this behavior, nor participated in the labeling or marketing decisions of related products, and reserves the right to take legal action against Chuwi.
This incident also prompted CPU-Z to release an update. In version 2.19, this error has been corrected. The representative said that if you have a Chuwi product marked with Ryzen 5 7430U, you can download the latest version of CPU-Z to check.
