According to the official roadmap, the future v1.2 version will open a “custom sound package”, allowing users to record the voices of pets or bosses as exclusive feedback; v1.3 is also expected to introduce MCP server integration, allowing SlapMac to evolve into a system-level event notifier. For example, when Slack receives a new message or code compilation fails, Mac can issue corresponding sounds to remind users.
SlapMac is not a productivity tool that solves actual work needs, but it interestingly proves that the sensors of Apple hardware can be transformed by developers into various unexpected ways. This application is specially designed for MacBooks equipped with M1 chips or above, and uses the built-in acceleration sensor (Bosch BMI286 IMU) of the notebook to detect physical impacts.
