When the phone is in the folded state, the outer screen is a 6.62-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 2616*1140, which supports dynamic updates from 1 to 120 Hz, a touch sampling rate of 240 Hz, and a maximum brightness of 3600 nit. The body frame is made of titanium alloy and 7000 series aluminum alloy. The advantage of this mix is that it can maintain high strength while effectively controlling weight. Although it does not reach the IP68 rating like some candy bar machines, it is quite difficult for a folding machine with a complex structure to be waterproof and dustproof. Okay, let’s talk about the most anticipated highlight of Find N6 this time: “no crease” technology. OPPO uses the third-generation titanium alloy sky-dome hinge this time. The entire hinge structure is composed of up to 136 components. The manufacturing process uses micron-level liquid 3D printing technology combined with laser scanning, and the precision is quite amazing. The core breakthrough is that the height difference of the hinge structure has been significantly reduced from the industry average of 0.2mm to only 0.05mm, a decrease of 75%.
In addition to the hinge itself, OPPO has also put a lot of effort into the materials used for the screen. The inner screen uses a new generation of memory glass, which is three times more rigid than the previous generation, has a shape recovery capacity of nearly 99.9%, and a 50% increase in glass thickness, which allows the screen to remain flat after repeated folding. At the same time, it is equipped with a special polymer fill material (Polymer Fill) to further fill the tiny gap between the hinge and the screen. According to test data from Germany’s TÜV Rheinland, Find N6’s crease formation rate is 82% lower than that of the previous generation Find N5, and it has passed Germany’s Rheinland durability test certification of keeping the screen flat after 600,000 folds and still functioning normally after 1 million folds.
How does it feel in practice? To be honest, the obvious groove feeling of previous folding machines has almost disappeared. When your finger slides across the center of the screen, the touch feels very smooth, and there is no obvious “valley” like before. Visually, the existence of the crease is almost invisible when viewed directly from the front, and can only be vaguely detected under the reflection of light at a specific angle.
