NVIDIA RTX 5060 Ti and RTX 5060 will also launch a 9GB GDDR7 version, with 1GB more memory but a 25% reduction in bandwidth
According to foreign media reports VideoCardz and Wccftech, China Boban Tang broke the news that NVIDIA has notified its AIB partners to launch a new version of RTX 5060 Ti and RTX 5060 equipped with 9GB GDDR7 memory.
This 9GB memory configuration is composed of three 3GB GDDR7 memory particles. The reason for this configuration is that two major memory manufacturers, Samsung and Micron, have begun mass production of 3GB capacity GDDR7 chips and provide new memory module options. This is not the first time NVIDIA has used 3GB modules on the RTX 50 series. The previous laptop version of the RTX 5090 had already taken the lead in using this memory configuration.
In terms of other core specifications, it is currently unknown whether there are any changes in the number of CUDA cores, GPU chips, or power consumption. For the RTX 5060 Ti, it is expected to still maintain 4,608 CUDA cores and a power consumption design of 180W. The RTX 5060 also maintains 3,840 CUDA cores and 145W power consumption. In other words, the 9GB version should only make adjustments to the memory configuration, while other hardware remains consistent with the existing version.

It is worth noting that the memory bus width of RTX 5060 Ti 8GB and RTX 5060 8GB is 128-bit. With four 2GB GDDR7 memory particles, the memory bandwidth is 448 GB/s.
After the new 9GB version uses three 3GB chips, the memory bus width will be reduced from 128-bit to 96-bit.
This also means that the bandwidth of the 9GB version is estimated to be 336 GB/s, which is about 112 GB/s less than the 448 GB/s of the existing 8GB version, a decrease of about 25%.
Although the new version has 1GB more memory, the data transfer speed is also significantly slower. If it is really launched, this is the trade-off that players will need to make. An additional 1GB of memory may avoid insufficient capacity in high-definition games or AI-related applications, but the reduction in bandwidth may also affect actual performance in certain scenarios, especially in scenarios where high-resolution textures are loaded more frequently.
The RTX 5060 Ti 9GB and RTX 5060 9GB versions are expected to be launched as soon as between the end of May and early June this year. Since Computex 2026 will be held in early June, NVIDIA is likely to choose to announce it at this time. The price is not yet known, and it is not certain whether 9GB will replace the existing 8GB.
