World ID, a real-person verification technology developed by Tools for Humanity (TFH) with privacy protection at its core, announced today that Taiwan’s ticketing platform Fansi Go has officially introduced the World’s real-person verification system. This cooperation aims to respond to the increasingly serious problem of ticket scalping and robot abuse in Taiwan, and to help rebuild fair accessibility in the ticketing market.

In recent years, Taiwan’s live event and concert market has faced a serious imbalance in ticket purchasing. Government statistics show that since 2023, relevant units have investigated and dealt with more than 190 ticket scalping cases, with a cumulative fine of more than NT$39 million, and some popular concert tickets have been resold for several times the original price, causing market disorder. Most of these chaos have formed in the early stages of ticket sales. Through automated bots, a large number of clone accounts and collaborative operations, scalpers can hoard a large number of tickets in a short period of time, creating the illusion that tickets are hard to come by and crowding out real fans and consumers. Traditional protective measures such as CAPTCHA, SMS verification, ticket purchase limit and queuing mechanism have gradually become ineffective in the face of increasingly mature automation technology.

After importing World ID, Fansi Go users can complete the “only real person” verification before booking or purchasing tickets. Therefore, the platform can provide “real people only” ticket quotas, without increasing the operational burden and without collecting a large amount of personal information, effectively reducing speculative ticket locking behavior and allowing tickets to return to the hands of consumers who really want to participate in the event more fairly.

TFH Xu Junyang, general manager of Taiwan and Singapore, said: “Ticket sales are no longer just a transaction process, but a trust issue. When bots and duplicate accounts dominate ticket purchasing rights, both fans and organizers lose. By proving the ‘only real person’, we can make real people People have returned to the core of the experience.” He added: “Taiwan is a market with extremely high digital participation in the region, and expectations for fair access to resources are also increasing. We are seeing a shift in platforms prioritizing ensuring real participation and building longer-term, more trustworthy relationships with the community.”

The first wave of pilots between Fansi Go and World will start with “2026 Record Store Day Taiwan”. This highly anticipated live music and vinyl culture event takes place on April 18, with exclusive discounted tickets available to World ID holders. The platform team will continue to optimize the user experience during the trial period, and plans to gradually expand real-person verification to more activities and functional scenarios as adoption increases. This cooperation is also World ID’s latest implementation case in the event and ticketing field, echoing TFH’s broader mission to re-center digital systems on “real people” rather than being dominated by automated behaviors.

In an era where AI and automation are rapidly reshaping online interactions, being able to reliably prove that there is a real and unique person behind an account is becoming an indispensable foundation for digital platforms. Xu Junyang finally said: “World ID is designed as a layer of digital trust foundation to ensure that online participation is based on human autonomy. It will start with event ticket sales in Taiwan, but the impact will go far beyond a single application scenario.”
