AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 Dual Edition launched earlier processor, is the most expensive one in the Ryzen family, with a suggested selling price of US$899 (approximately NT$29,000), which is US$200 more expensive than the 9950X3D. And since dual 3D cache is adopted, many players may think that game performance should also be enhanced, right? The answer seems to be no.
Earlier, many foreign media shared the actual game measurement of Ryzen 9 9950X3D2. Judging from the average data, this phone has almost no improvement in game performance. In some games, it even lost to the Ryzen 7 9800X3D, which is only half the price. This also led foreign media to give a “terrible value” (poor CP value) evaluation.

AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 Dual Edition crashes in actual test! Gaming performance is lost to the 9800X3D, which costs half the price
For those who are not familiar with this processor, here is a quick introduction.
The 9950X3D2 Dual Edition is AMD’s first processor to stack 3D V-Cache on both CCDs. The previous 9950X3D only had one CCD with a 3D V-Cache, and the other was a standard version of the die. This time AMD upgraded both sides, and the L3 cache increased from 128MB to 192MB.
The core specifications remain the same as the 9950X3D, including 16 cores and 32 threads, AM5 pins, DDR5 support, a base clock of 4.3GHz, and a maximum acceleration clock of 5.6GHz. The TDP is relatively high, increased from 170W to 200W.
according to Wccftech According to reports, in the average test of 17 games tested by foreign media Tom’s Hardware, the 9950X3D2 scored 211.3 FPS, which was not only about 2.8% slower than the 9850X3D, but also couldn’t beat the 9800X3D, falling behind by 0.6%, but still slightly ahead of the 9950X3D:

The test results of Quasar Zone are similar, with Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 showing almost no improvement in game performance. In the 1080p multiple game tests, it is almost the same as Ryzen 9 9950X3D, Ryzen 7 9850X3D and Ryzen 7 9800X3D:

TechSpot’s 14 game test is also similar, with no big difference in games and slight improvements in productivity applications. However, TechSpot’s test is that among these three foreign media, only 9950X3D2 ranked first:

So to put it simply, the new flagship processor 9950X3D2, which costs US$899, is almost tied in the game with the 9800X3D, which costs only US$460~479. The CP value can be said to be very low. Of course, dual 3D V-Cache still helps in terms of productivity, it depends on whether you think the price difference is worth it.
