Best Brokers, a financial media and broker evaluation platform, recently released a report called “Profit per Employee Across the World’s Largest Companies.” It analyzes the top 200 listed companies in the world with market capitalization as of April 1, 2026, and compares the profitability efficiency of major companies from the two perspectives of “time to earn US$1 million” and “profit per employee.” The report collects financial data such as annual revenue, net profit and number of employees of these companies, and ranks them accordingly. The results show that the technology industry shows an overwhelming advantage in the speed of making money, and four of the top five are American technology giants.

Google earns $1 million in less than 4 minutes, Huida is not far behind

Reports indicate that Alphabet (Google’s parent company) 3 minutes 59 secondsThe fastest way to make $1 million in net profit is over $250,000 per minute. Following closely behind is NVIDIA, the king of AI chips. 4 minutes 23 secondsRanking second also reflects the strong impetus given by the AI craze to its operations. Microsoft (Microsoft) 5 minutes 10 secondsRanked third.

It is worth noting that the gap between Apple and Saudi Aramco is extremely small. 5 minutes 36 secondsand 5 minutes 38 secondsOccupying the fourth and fifth places shows that although this oil giant belongs to the traditional energy industry, its astonishing profitability is still not inferior to that of technology leaders. TSMC, which has skyrocketed, is ranked tenth, taking 9 minutes and 31 seconds.

Earning speed ≠ person-to-person ratio: AppLovin wins the championship in per-person profit

However, making money quickly does not mean that the “people efficiency ratio” is the highest. The report also analyzed the “profit per employee” of each company, and the results showed an interesting reversal. Although Google wins the championship in terms of the speed of making money, due to its large employee base, it has fallen sharply in the ranking of profit per employee, ranking only 18th.

Surprisingly, the company that topped the list of “profit per capita” was a company called AppLovin company. This company, which focuses on mobile advertising and gaming technology, has a market value of approximately US$134.51 billion, but has only 898 employees. Its net profit in fiscal year 2025 reached US$3.33 billion, which translates into an average profit per employee of up to $3.7 million(approximately NT$120 million). This is not the actual salary of employees, but reflects the company’s extremely high operational efficiency and the advantages of its asset-light business model.

in conclusion

This report clearly illustrates that in the digital economy era, “making money speed” and “human efficiency ratio” are two things that can be completely decoupled. Technology giants like Google rely on their huge ecosystems and economies of scale to create huge profits in a very short time; asset-light platforms like AppLovin demonstrate the power of another business model with more extreme single-point profitability. For investors and business operators, the comparison of these two indicators may have more reference value than pure revenue figures.
