LEGO today officially released the long-awaited latest large-scale box set of the “Lord of the Rings” series: Minas Tirith. With 8,278 pieces, it becomes the largest Lord of the Rings-themed product in LEGO’s history. Box set number 11377 is part of the LEGO Icons series and is expected to go on sale in early June. Lego has actively restarted the Lord of the Rings product line in recent years, from 2023’s Rivendell (6,167 pieces, $500) to 2025’s Tower of Babel (Barad-dûr). Now Minas Tirith sits on the series leader throne with more than 8,200 pieces, and has also set a record for the sixth largest box set in all Lego series.
Minas Tirith Box Set Specifications and Design Highlights
According to official LEGO information, the Minas Tirith box set is nearly two feet (approximately 61 cm) tall, with a width and depth of approximately two feet and 14 inches (approximately 36 cm) respectively, requiring considerable display space. Officially described as a “hybrid design of micro-scale and human-scale proportions,” it not only presents the majestic outline of the entire white city, but also retains the detailed interiors of several key scenes, including the throne room in the movie “The Return of the King.”

The lineup of figures is the richest in the current Lord of the Rings series, including a total of 10 figures and Shadowfax warhorses: Gandalf the White, Faramir, Denethor, Peregrine Took, Aragorn (King Elisar’s coronation costume), Arwen, and four Gondor soldiers, each with a variety of accessories. It’s worth noting that this is the first time LEGO has released a figure in Aragorn’s coronation costume, making it extremely attractive to collectors.
Price and launch schedule
Minas Tirith is priced at US$650 in the US, which translates to approximately NT$21,125 at current exchange rates. Compared with Rivendell launched in 2023 (6167 pieces / US$500, about NT$16,250), the new version of the box set has an increase of about 34% in the number of pieces, a price increase of about 30%, and the price per unit of pieces is roughly the same.
In terms of the launch schedule, LEGO Insider members will have priority to purchase from June 1st, while the general public will have to wait until June 4th. Consumers who purchase Minas Tirith between June 1st and 6th will receive a limited gift (Gift with Purchase) containing a small scene box set of Orcs and Battering Ram Grond.

The Revival of the Lord of the Rings LEGO Series
Lego’s Lord of the Rings series was first launched between 2012 and 2014. At that time, it covered classic scenes such as Helm’s Deep and the Black Gate, and then fell silent for many years. It was not until Rivendell was launched in 2023 that it returned again under the name LEGO Icons, and achieved unexpected market success. With the further launch of Barad-dûr, the Black Tower of Mordor, in 2025, and now with the addition of Minas Tirith, LEGO seems to be gradually completing the main scenes of Middle-earth one by one.
According to foreign reports, there may be more Lord of the Rings-related box sets being planned in 2026, including rumored sets such as the Bust of Sauron and Helm’s Deep, but LEGO officials have not yet confirmed these news.
