In the past we have introduced Siri becomes ChatGPT, but it requires an API Key, which requires an additional fee. This article will teach another method. You can also talk to ChatGPT directly through Siri, but the difference is that this time it is paired with the ChatGPT App. The representative said that it is completely free to use, and those who have ChatGPT Plus members can also specify to use the GPT-4o model to answer.

Since it is paired with ChatGPT App, the first condition is that you must have ChatGPT App on your iPhone. If you have not downloaded it yet, please click the link below to download and install it.

  • obtain ChatGPT App

This method is also implemented using shortcuts, so your iPhone also needs to have the Shortcuts App.

After the ChatGPT App is installed and logged in to your account, open the Shortcut App. At the bottom of all the shortcut menus, you can find the ChatGPT field. After entering, you will see five preset scripts. We use the “Ask ChatGPT” one, open the… option in the upper right corner, and click “Add Shortcut”:

After adding it, enter this shortcut. At this time, please change the name first. You can call it whatever you want. For example, if I change it to ChatGPT, then when the voice wakes up Siri, say “Hey Siri, ChatGPT”. If you change it to Xiao Ming, it will become “Hey Siri, Xiao Ming”. It depends on which name you can pronounce more smoothly:

Next, please open the arrow on the right side of Ash ChatGPT and turn on “Start New Chat”. If you are a ChatGPT Plus user like me, you can specify the model, including GPT-3.5, GPT-4 and GPT-4o. The free version cannot modify the model:

The above settings are easy to use and you are done! You can use Siri to talk to ChatGPT.

The name of my shortcut is Settings ChatGPT, so when I say “Hey Siri, ChatGPT”, Siri will enable this shortcut and then ask “What question do you want to ask ChatGPT” and it will give you the question you want to ask:

I asked what model it uses, and sure enough the answer is based on OpenAI’s GPT-4 model. When Siri finishes answering, it will continue to listen to your next question. You can continue to ask the same question as the previous one, or ask a new one:

If the answer is too long for you to read, you can always answer it in less than 100 words. In addition, I often make mistakes when the test content is too long, so I recommend that when you first ask, you should add “the answer should not exceed 100 words” at the end, which will make it much more stable:

Like this, instead of a long list, ChatGPT will answer in a shorter way:

All chat content will be recorded in your ChatGPT App chat room, so you can open it for viewing at any time if necessary.

In addition, ChatGPT will need to wait for a second or two when answering and will not answer immediately.
