Now Google’s official support page has updated the complete list. Users in a total of 36 countries and regions can receive this benefit, and Taiwan is also on the list.
In other words, if you already subscribe to the Google AI Pro plan, you will automatically activate YouTube Premium Lite worth 119 yuan/month without paying any more. according to Google official support page announcedprofile, YouTube Premium Lite benefits will be automatically enabled, provided you meet one of the following conditions:
- Google AI Pro individual plan paying users: including monthly paying, annual paying, or paying subscribers through third-party partners. Google One 5TB and 10TB plans are also available.
- Family group plan manager himself: Only the plan manager gets Premium Lite, family members cannot share, and family members will still see ads when watching videos.
- AI Pro users paid by third-party partners: AI Pro ordered through telecom operators or other channels will also automatically receive Premium Lite
- Not a trial user: If you are in the AI Pro trial period, it will not take effect until you switch to a formal paid subscription.
There are currently 36 countries/regions offering discounts, including Japan, Taiwan, the United Kingdom, the United States, Australia, Singapore, and Thailand.
However, it should be noted that the benefits of “Premium Lite” and the full version of “YouTube Premium” are still quite different. The following are the benefits of Premium Lite:
- Watch most YouTube and YouTube Kids videos ad-free: Contents such as instructional videos, Vlogs, reviews, news, and technology channels are all covered
- Offline download: You can download the video and watch it when there is no Internet connection.
- background play: YouTube can continue to play sounds when the phone switches to other apps or the screen is locked.
Benefits not available with Premium Lite:
- Music content still has ads: Including official music videos, artist channels, children’s songs, content uploaded by users but containing songs from partner musicians (such as covers, dances, Vlogs with popular background music). To put it simply, as long as there is content related to music copyright, advertisements will appear.
- YouTube Shorts still have ads and cannot be downloaded or played in the background
- Ads will still appear on YouTube search results pages and browsing interfaces
- Does not include YouTube Music Premium: YouTube Music App still has ads when listening to songs, cannot be listened to offline, and cannot be played in the background.
- Missing advanced features: Continue watching, skip the viewed paragraphs, queue playback, high-quality audio and video
For those who have already subscribed to YouTube Premium or YouTube Premium Lite, the Premium Lite provided by Google AI Pro will not be automatically activated, and Google will not automatically cancel your original subscription for you, so if you want to switch to the one provided by AI Pro, you need to cancel the subscription yourself.
After cancellation, AI Pro Premium Lite will be automatically enabled.
