An important feature that many LINE users love is about to say goodbye to users this summer. Earlier, LINE pushed a notification to inform users that the Keep function will terminate its service at the end of July this year. Keep, LINE’s free cloud space, provides 1GB of free cloud space. LINE Keep allows users to store text, photos, videos, files, links and other content on it, and then directly access and share it across devices. In most cases, there is no need to worry about photo expiration, and it is also widely loved by users.

LINE Keep’s free cloud space will end its service on July 31st. Please back up important data as soon as possible!

In addition to chatting with friends and communicating with customers and family members, LINE usually wants to easily transfer or back up some important matters or data between LINEs. Many users will choose to store it directly in LINE Keep, which provides free 1GB of cloud space, which is very useful for daily storage of text, important photos, and files. However, LINE announced that Keep will end its service on July 31, 2024. LINE will terminate the “LINE HUB” function in early 2023Finally, an important service commonly used by users was once again terminated.

The notice that Keep will terminate its service this time also reminds users to back up the items stored in Keep before the end of the service. If you have some important data, you must back it up to other platforms in the near future, otherwise the data will be lost when the time comes. However, the notice also mentioned that after Keep ends its service, the “Keep Notes” function can still be used.

As for Keep notes, what are they? This is a service launched by LINE in July 2020. Keep Notes is an independent chat room. It seems to be similar to the “one-person group” that everyone will create. It is a private chat room that only you can browse. However, the biggest difference between the previous functions of Keep notes and one-person groups is that all content sent by users to Keep notes, including text, web links, pictures, videos and files, will be “automatically temporarily saved” to the Keep cloud space and can be managed in Keep.

But the common question among users should be, when the Keep function stops serving in the future, will the remaining Keep notes still have their data transferred somewhere for backup? This is currently unknown. Without the function of automatically transferring to cloud space for backup, it seems that it is not as good as users can create multiple one-person groups to manage different types of data.

As LINE has announced that Keep will cease service at the end of July, it is recommended that you find time to check what important data you have in your Keep space, and you can find a platform to back it up! Although the Keep function can continue to be used normally before the service is terminated, if you consider that you will have to back up the data again, it is better to stop using it after the recent backup. Whether it is transferred to other cloud spaces such as Google One, iCloud, OneDrive or Dropbox, it is a more reassuring option.
