The latest YouTube on TV interface experience is here to make TV users more willing to interact

Although there is some lack of interest in launching the YouTube app on “other platforms” (see more:Google changes its tune and plans to launch YouTube App for Vision Pro), but Google has observed more than 1 billion hours of demand for “YouTube on TV” on TV every day. It can be said that its ambition to occupy the most present TV screen in the living room has not diminished but increased. After collecting relevant experiences from trial users, the latest experience was officially launched, adding more interactive possibilities to the YouTube experience on TV.

“Rolling out over the next few weeks, our new design will not only improve existing functionality like accessing video descriptions and comments, but also open the door for a broad range of new experiences such as shopping for your creators’ favorite products and viewing live scores for sports fans. (接下來數週,我們的新設計不僅將改善現有功能,如訪問影片描述和評論,還會為廣泛的新體驗打開大門,例如購買喜愛創作者的產品及查看運動即時比分。)”

Although YouTube on TV already provides a better mobile-friendly experience. But if you are like the editor, you can never find the information and comments fields for watching YouTube videos on TV. Let me tell you a good news. This update not only allows you to know the simple operation of “just swipe up to select the video title”, but you can also enter the interface that can provide the number of likes/views, date, description and even comments. It is more likely that because of this revision, you will have the opportunity to fall in love with the experience of browsing this information directly on the TV (right? Will you?).

According to the official blog, the main design focus of this YouTube on TV experience is to bring a richer and interference-free TV experience, while also ensuring that the playback function of the corresponding remote control is still easy to use.

YouTube responds to the user’s desire not to let the relevant information take the spotlight when viewing this information, and does not want redundant elements to obscure the reduced screen. The interface that originally described the interface as covering the video itself has been adjusted to a method that dynamically shrinks the presentation of the video content currently being played – friends who want to know if there has been a revision can switch to this interface to confirm. Under this interface, you can easily click on each column to view extended information such as comments and descriptions – the comment area can also directly jump to the mobile device to leave a message through the button.

Personally, I think this revision will make people more willing to browse more information besides the video itself on TV – this part includes elements of subsequent interaction (it is said that the Live Chat instant chat room may also have similar adjustments). In addition, I don’t know if you have noticed that there is actually a “Products in this video” column hidden in the small corner of this revision.

This part is actually mentioned in the official blog. This revision is expected to bring an extended experience including live sports scores and shopping-related functions – the latter experience can actually be noticed on YouTube that the official is actively promoting the development of this aspect.

As for whether users who are mainly focused on the TV experience can also notice it, or even “use magic cards” to support creators, it may yet to be shared by official data in the future. If this experience goes well, it will be pushed to users in the next few weeks. I wonder if you have received it.
