Xiaomi Taiwan issued a press release today (22nd), officially announcing that the new generation Xiaomi 17T Series will be released in Taiwan on May 29th, followed by a seamless global debut on May 28th, demonstrating Xiaomi’s great importance to the Taiwan market. As the latest masterpiece of Xiaomi and Leica’s deepened imaging cooperation, the 17T series introduces Leica Summilux optical lenses to the T series product line for the first time, and is equipped with an ultra-large capacity battery of up to 7,000mAh on the Pro model. The overall upgrade is the largest in the history of the T series. It is worth noting that this year’s T series is launched nearly four months earlier than the previous generation Xiaomi 15T series (released in September 2025), making it the earliest global launch time for the T series in history.

With the launch of the new machine, Xiaomi has simultaneously planned three major consumer experience activities: a pop-up experience center in Xinyi District, a Leica Imaging Masterclass, and a lottery for first-time purchase bonuses. In addition to the opening of the Xiaomi Home LaLaport Taichung Direct Store, Xiaomi’s product rhythm and channel expansion in Taiwan in the first half of 2026 can be said to be in full swing.
Leica Summilux optics are distributed to the T series for the first time, and telephoto shooting is fully upgraded
According to the currentExposed official information, the most eye-catching upgrade of this 17T series is undoubtedly the imaging system. Both models use Leica Summilux optical lenses. This is the first time that Leica’s cooperation has been extended to the T series product line. Previously, Summilux lenses were only found in Xiaomi’s digital series flagship models. This means that consumers can enjoy the computational photography experience jointly tuned by Xiaomi and Leica without going directly to a 10,000-yuan flagship.

In terms of camera hardware, the main camera 17T standard version is equipped with a 50MP Leica Summilux main lens, supporting up to 120x digital zoom; the 17T Pro is upgraded to a larger 50MP Light Fusion 950 high-dynamic sensor, which has better light intake and dynamic range. Both feature a 50MP telephoto lens that supports 5x optical zoom, as well as a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 32MP front-facing lens.
Three major consumer activities are launched simultaneously, with Xinyi District pop-up pavilion being the first to experience it
In order to let consumers experience the Leica imaging capabilities of the 17T series for the first time, Xiaomi has planned three waves of launch activities, with the scale and intensity being the largest in the history of the T series:
① Xiaomi 17T Series Leica Moment Studio Immersive Experience Center
For three consecutive days from May 29th to 31st, a limited-time video experience center will be built at the Weishow Atrium in Xinyi, Taipei. Not only can you personally operate the new camera to shoot on-site, but you can also instantly print your works for collection; complete designated interactive tasks to receive limited gifts and exclusive discount coupons. Xiaomi’s “People × Car × Home” smart full ecological linkage experience was simultaneously demonstrated on site, ranging from mobile phones to AIoT devices.
② Xiaomi 17T Series Leica Imaging Master Class
It will be held at designated Mi Home stores across Taipei, central and southern Taipei from May 29. Professional lecturers will provide in-depth analysis of the Leica imaging functions and practical shooting techniques of the 17T series. From now on, limited registration is open on ACCUPASS (until the quota is filled), and participants will receive exquisite gifts throughout the process.
