If you also want to switch to a device that does not support Google Fast Pair, you may have to repeatedly jump to the full Bluetooth settings page on your Android device to connect or disconnect the previously paired device. Fortunately, Google may simplify this operation process slightly in the upcoming Android version. Basically, as soon as the Bluetooth quick setting tile dialog box function is launched, a “>” icon will be added to the Bluetooth quick setting tile, and a pop-up dialog box will open, allowing you to switch Bluetooth devices, switch between recently paired devices, open the detailed information page of a specific recently paired Bluetooth device, or open the settings page to pair a new Bluetooth device. As you can see in the screenshot below, the pop-up dialog shows the currently connected Galaxy Buds 2 Pro and the Sony WH-1000XM3 headphones that were connected in the past. Clicking the name of a specific Bluetooth device in this list will switch active connections to that device, as long as the connection is available.
This feature is long overdue, and OEMs like OnePlus have had it in their Android forks for years. When quick settings toggles become extensible, Android itself will have similar functionality. Android 12 added a popup dialog box for the network connection quick settings tile, so it was only a matter of time before Android added one for the Bluetooth tile. However, like other beta version features, we don’t know when this feature will be launched, but it may be launched in the stable official version of Android 14 QPR2 or Android 15.
