However, this time X (formerly Twitter) announced the official launch of the long-announced voice/video call messaging function. Unexpectedly, the first thing that foreign media 9to5Mac launched was a tutorial on how to turn it off.

It can be regarded as firmly following Elon Musk’s strategy of making X a “Super App” (this is really a very Elon Musk description). The voice/video call messaging function that was announced in the notice has also been pushed to users’ X App recently – I haven’t received it yet. I wonder if everyone has received it? If so, see if you should consider following their teachings and turning it off (eh).
In short, the switch for this feature should be found in “Swipe left or click the user icon in the upper left corner > Privacy and Security > Private Messages”. The rest depends on everyone’s own thoughts.
According to foreign media 9to5Mac, this feature will directly use the iOS CallKit API. Therefore, all incoming calls from X services will be directly integrated into the general call interface, and incoming calls will be displayed when the screen is locked. The reason why they provide instructions for turning it off is mainly to allow readers who don’t want to be disturbed by this feature to turn it off completely early. Or by setting restrictions, only contacts/tracking lists/authenticated users can use this service for communication.
In fact, at present, I am not sure whether this company/service is concerned about people’s complaints, but what is certain is that when it launches a new service function, it is immediately attacked by foreign media and directly teaches you how to turn it off. It can be seen that when Twitter was first taken over by Elon Musk, people generally still had a “savior” fantasy.
