Sometimes it is inevitable that a large number of tabs will be opened at once, no matter what browser you use. If you have dozens of tabs open in Safari on your iPhone or iPad and want to clear them quickly, pressing “X” all at once can be annoying. Fortunately, there are two ways to close all Safari tabs at once, also in private browsing mode, and I’ll teach you them all this time.

How to close all Safari tabs at once on iPhone/iPad?

Are you still stupidly pressing page after page to close? The function we are going to teach you this time may be unknown to most iPhone users, or it may have never been paid attention to. Close it once and learn it quickly, which will save you a lot of time on stupid operations!

Close all Safari tabs using the tab switcher

First, open Safari on iPhone/iPad. On any tab, you can see the switcher button located in the toolbar (it looks like two overlapping squares). The location is in the upper right corner of the screen for iPad and the lower right corner of the screen for iPhone.

Next, press and hold the tab switcher icon. You will see a function menu pop up, from which click “Close all X tabs”. When Safari asks for confirmation, click “Close All Tabs” again. After that, all your browser tabs will be closed at once.

Turn off tab switcher all Safari tabs

Sometimes you only see that you have opened so many tabs in the Safari tab switching interface, so there is another method that can help you quickly close all these tabs. First, open Safari as usual, then click the tab switcher, and long press “Done” in the tab switch interface. The location is in the upper right corner of the screen for iPad and the lower right corner of the screen for iPhone. Click “Close all

How to reopen a recently closed tab

If you accidentally close all the tabs and want to bring them back, you can still find them by searching one tab at a time, as long as you’re not in private browsing mode. Just click the tab switcher button, then press and hold the + button until the Recently Closed Tabs list appears. From there, you can view a list of previously closed pages and open them again in Safari with a single click.
