Not happy about changing Twitter to X? Someone created a Chrome Extension to bring back the youthful Twitter bluebird
If you’ve had enough of Elon Musk’s outrageous tweets that have been with you for years (see more:Memorial ceremony for Japanese tweeters after Twitter changed its name from Blue Bird to X). Instead of mourning the blue bird or throwing money at Twitter, there are some (humble) acts of resistance. So now you have a chance to be willful and catch Twitter’s blue bird.
Although after Twitter was capriciously changed to X – how capricious?Even @x users whose names collided with Twitter’s new trademark could have their accounts taken away by the authorities without warning.… Many people have already recognized this potentially irreversible result, and have posted memes on Twitter that are mixed with helplessness and full of humor, in order to mourn the figure of Elon Musk’s Twitter little bluebird who will never return when he has a heartbeat.
However, the Twitter community is full of geniuses, and there is no shortage of people who can easily find solutions.

I simply and violently wrote an Extension function for the Google Chrome browser, and instantly changed the X Logo in the upper left corner of the Twitter website back to the original blue bird logo.
I’m not a huge fan of the new X logo so I wrote a chrome extension that reverts the X back to the bird logo.
You can see in the demo that the bird is restored in both the app as well as the tab icon.

Cygaar has posted an Extension demonstration video that instantly changes the logo. And with the comment “Long live the bird”, he paid tribute to this little blue bird that has been with many Twitter fans for a long time – as you can see in the video, after reorganizing the webpage by activating the Extension. Twitter’s web icon returns to its original appearance.

This was made purely for fun, I probably won’t maintain this longterm unless there is significant demand.

He also directly put this extension function on GitHub for everyone to use. Mentioned that this was developed just for fun. If there is not much demand, it will not be updated and maintained for a long time.
However, observing the responses from the community, Cygaar’s post was full of messages of support and thanks. It seems that the demand must be quite high, right? I believe that even if this function fails, someone will follow suit and provide similar functions – as long as Elon Musk does not have a further “new strategy”…
