I never thought that ChatGPT could be combined with maps. Recently I discovered this very special online tool “ChatMap”. Just like its name, it is a map tool with ChatGPT function. Just enter the description of the place you want to find, and it can help you mark the location on the map. This means that with this tool, you don’t have to Google the actual name of the place before you can find it on the map, which is much more convenient.

Although ChatMap is a foreign website, it can also input Chinese just like ChatGPT supports Chinese input, so there is no need to worry about this. The method of use is very simple. After entering the website, enter the description of the location you are looking for in the search field:
However, you need to register before using it. The free version seems to provide 30 query functions. If you don’t want to pay for more than 30 times, just use another email to register:
But I don’t know if it’s a problem with my browser. After typing, I can’t see the words I entered, but they are highlighted. If the same thing happens to you, just use Select All to highlight and check. If there is no problem, Search will start searching. I tested “Japanese Capital”:
Sure enough, Tokyo is marked on the map, and ChatGPT’s reply is also displayed above. However, the font color I saw is white and I can’t see it clearly, so I read it in reverse white. There is indeed no problem with ChatGPT’s reply, but the map is useless at this time. It seems that there is no way to mark multiple locations at the same time. So when you want to use this tool to find a location, currently only a single location will be marked on the map:
Next, I tested “Taiwan’s tallest building”, and sure enough I found the 101 Building, and the location was also marked on the map. Another strange thing is that this reply is in Traditional Chinese, not English. If you want to ensure that you get a Chinese reply every time, you can try adding text like “Please reply in Traditional Chinese” after your description:
I originally thought that whether I searched for places in Taiwan, the answer would be in Traditional Chinese, but after testing “Taiwan’s highest mountain”, it seemed to be random, so I responded in English this time. The location is also correct, it is Yushan. However, this tool has a small drawback. Although there are pins on the map, there is no text description. Therefore, if you don’t read the above ChatGPT reply, you don’t know where this location is:

Although ChatMap shows a way to combine with ChatGPT, it does not feel mature yet. This method is not so practical at present, and we should see better application methods in the future.
