After WWDC 2023 ended, many new iOS 17 features that were not introduced at the event were gradually discovered by developers. Foreign media MacRumors also compiled a number of new features added to iOS 17.
Calling my Apple Watch
In the future of iOS 17, users only need to pair their Apple Watch with their iPhone, and then go to the settings control center to add “Call My Apple Watch” to the control items. Then just click the “Call My Apple Watch” function in the Control Center, and your Apple Watch will remember the sound effects you often hear when searching for a device!
Improved Spotlight Siri suggestions
When you pull down the home screen to open the Spotlight search function, you will see that Siri suggests many more function settings, and users can operate them directly here.
multiple timers
Later in iOS 17 timers will allow users to create multiple timers at once, and each timer set by the user can get a label, which helps you identify it in the list. For added convenience, the list will also include any recently used completed timers.
When several timers are running simultaneously, all timers will be listed on the lock screen, and the last timer set by the user will appear in the dynamic island.
Safari listening to web pages
In addition to reading and translating web pages, the Safari browser in iOS 17 also adds a new function of “Listen to Web Pages”. Users only need to click on it to read the content of the web page they are currently browsing aloud through Siri. In addition, when Siri starts reading a web page, you can also click “Pause Listening” in the original function menu to stop the reading function.
Recipe visual query
In the Photos app, Apple has enhanced the visual query function to provide similar recipe suggestions when food is recognized in the image.
Fitness+ custom plan
Although it has not yet been launched in Taiwan, Apple’s subscription-based fitness service Apple Fitness+ has added a new feature called “Custom Plan” in iOS 17, where users can create their own weekly exercise and meditation plans to increase motivation for exercise. Program options include the ability to set a total daily workout, meditation time, set program length, and select activity type. Additionally, users can select their preferred Fitness+ trainer and the type of music you want within the plan.
