In order to attract more people to click in to watch the full video, many channel operators will make the video into a short video and put it on platforms such as YouTube Shorts, Facebook, TikTok, etc. However, it is not easy to edit a long video into a short video with one click. Not only do you have to think about what video clips to keep, but you also need to edit them into a size suitable for these platforms. It is very time-consuming. This article will recommend a recently discovered and quite powerful Munch online tool, which uses AI to help you edit long videos into multiple short videos with one click, and can be directly uploaded to YouTube Shorts, Facebook platform, also has some editing features.

  • Click here to go to the Munch website

Before I start the introduction, I would like to remind you that Munch is not a free service, but you will get a discount for a movie (with a watermark) when you register for the first time. If you think it is good, you can consider the paid version.

You need to register an account before use, click Get Started Now:

You can register by email, or you can directly connect your Google account:

After registration, you will enter the backend, press + to add your new project:

You will then be asked to choose your commonly used short video platforms, including TikTok, Instagram, YouTube Shorts, Facebook and Linkedln. You can choose up to two for each project:

Upload your video (up to 4GB, 2 hours in length), also supports YouTube video links:

Choose the subtitle style you like. This part can be adjusted later. If you don’t know how to choose, just choose it casually:

Enter a project name, video description, and press Munch it!:

AI editing will begin. My video is about 7 and a half minutes long, so you need to wait for about 30 minutes. If your video is longer, the waiting time should be longer. There will be an email notification after editing, so just wait:

My more than 7-minute video was edited into 10 short videos, each of which is different in length, ranging from 20 seconds to 30 seconds, so it seems that it is not directly divided evenly, but actually contains the content:

Each film has a special description. For example, if the word “High Search” appears, it means that this film contains frequently searched content. I don’t know how they judge this. Created For is which platform is most suitable for use. The two platforms I chose are YouTube Shorts and Facebook:

After clicking on the video, you can preview the subtitles. The subtitles are still preset. I am not sure if it is because of the Chinese language that they are not automatically changed. Click the pencil icon below to edit:

You can change it to the content you want, or you can turn off the subtitles function (there is a switch on the right side of Subtitles):

Font size and color can be modified:

If you don’t like the version you chose before, you can also adjust it here:

If you are satisfied, click Export in the upper right corner to download it to your computer. The free version will have a small watermark:
