M-Color is used to keep the color configuration of the external screen consistent with the MacBook’s built-in screen. For those engaged in design, photography or video editing, the color difference between the laptop screen and the external monitor is a daily problem. M-Color reduces the need for manual adjustment through color calibration at the software level. M-Sync allows users to adjust monitor settings directly on Mac without having to reach out to press physical buttons on the screen. For users who are accustomed to the operating logic of macOS, this feature reduces the sense of interruption when switching devices.
Fourth generation QD-OLED panel with DarkArmor technology
The flagship model of the PRO MAX series, 271UPXW12G, is equipped with a 27-inch 4K (3840×2160) QD-OLED panel with a pixel density of 166 PPI. This density is close to the MacBook Pro’s Liquid Retina display, which means there will be no significant difference in text sharpness and design curve details when switching from the laptop to an external screen.
The panel is equipped with MSI’s thin-film display technology called “DarkArmor”, which officials claim can deliver 40% deeper black levels and sharper light and dark contrast. The QD-OLED panel itself is superior to traditional LCD in terms of black performance. DarkArmor is used to further enhance this advantage, making the dark details richer while maintaining the color saturation of the bright parts.
In terms of color accuracy, PRO MAX 271UPXW12G is dual certified by Pantone Validated and Pantone SkinTone Validated, with a Delta-E value ≤ 2. For multimedia workers who need to accurately judge colors on the screen, this value means that the color deviation from the screen to the final output is controlled within a range that is imperceptible to the human eye. In addition, the panel has “Uniform Luminance” technology to avoid brightness fluctuations and provide a stable visual foundation during long-term color correction or video editing operations.
98W / 15W Dual USB-C: One cable solves all problems
PRO MAX 271UPXW12G is equipped with dual USB Type-C ports, providing 98W and 15W power transmission respectively. The 98W port can handle data transfer, 4K image output and laptop charging simultaneously, realizing a true single-wire connection solution. The 15W port can be used as a charging or data channel for a second device.
For MacBook Air or MacBook Pro users, the 98W power supply capacity is enough to meet the charging needs of most models. When you go home or in the office, you only need to plug in a USB-C cable to complete charging, image output and data transmission at the same time, greatly simplifying wire management in the workspace.
3 Device KVM switching: A control center for multi-machine users

This monitor introduces MSI’s “EyesErgo+” eye protection system for the first time, and its biggest feature is its Circular Polarized panel technology. The light emitted by traditional screens is mostly linearly polarized, which can easily cause eye fatigue when viewed for a long time. Circular polarizing technology converts light into a form closer to natural light, making the light distribution more even and soft. This technology has been certified by TÜV and is paired with hardware-level Less Blue Light PRO and Anti-Flicker technology to protect your eyes while maintaining color accuracy as much as possible.
In terms of specifications, PRO MAX 271QPHW E14 features 2K resolution, 144Hz update rate, Delta E ≤ 2 color accuracy, and 65W USB-C power transmission and KVM switching functions. The initial selling price in the Chinese market is RMB 1,299 (approximately NT$5,700), and it is positioned relatively close to the people.

The PRO MAX series all adopt pure white body and clean line design, clearly conveying the product positioning of “Made for Mac” from the appearance. In the Mac peripheral market, the visual consistency of the monitor’s appearance with Apple products has always been one of the considerations when purchasing. PRO MAX 271UPXW12G is currently on the shelves in Taiwan. The price is NT$23,900 through PChome 24h shopping. It is also available at MSI official store. Compared with the Apple Studio Display’s starting price of 47,900 yuan, MSI’s pricing strategy is clearly aimed at the group of people who “want a high-quality Mac external screen but don’t want to pay the Apple brand premium.”
