The Scheduled Actions feature was first previewed a few weeks ago, and you can use it for morning briefings, weekly creative summaries, and more. Now, the feature has begun rolling out more widely on Android. According to foreign media 9to5Google According to the report, the new feature is only available to users with paid Gemini AI Pro or Ultra subscription plans.
Creating Scheduled Actions is very simple. You can give Gemini a command, such as “Summarize my unread emails every morning at 7 AM,” and Gemini will display it as an embedded card. You can tap the profile picture at the top right of the Gemini app to manage all the scheduled projects you’ve created, where a new Scheduled Actions option will appear. You can choose to pause or delete any active prompts, but there are some limitations.
You can have at most 10 active plans at a time, and any action that uses location as a trigger will be based on the location set in Scheduled Actions. But what I mentioned above isn’t even the biggest limitation—the paywall is. Scheduled Actions is currently only available to Gemini AI Pro and Ultra subscribers. In addition, the feature hasn’t launched on iOS or the web version yet, and it’s still unknown whether it will be offered to free users.
Google Assistant also has similar features. Scheduled Actions is clearly a replacement for that feature, and it also pushes the voice assistant a step closer to its demise. It also demonstrates how Gemini has evolved from a chatbot into a full-fledged digital assistant.
