There are many AI services on the Internet today, such as Bing AI, ChatGPT, MixerBox ChatAI, etc. Anyone who has used them should have this feeling. Regardless of which one has better response content, each one seems to be similar in use? It is not used to answer questions, but it can be used to write articles, code, etc. The PI chatbot launched by Inflection AI earlier should give you new feelings.

Inflection AI launches PI personal assistant chatbot with voice interaction and will detect your emotions to respond with appropriate content

PI is a chatbot that focuses on “AI personal assistant”. It is different from common services on the market. It cannot write programs or answer specific mathematical questions. Mustafa Suleyman, CEO of Inflection AI, said: “Pi’s function is to act as a listener, allowing users to solve problems or answer questions through back-and-forth conversations. It will remember these conversations and get to know the user better and better over time. Although it also gives answers based on current facts, compared to OpenAI’s GPT-4, Microsoft Bing or Google Bard based on GPT-4 are more personal.”

In other words, “PI will observe whether the user’s conversation content is emotional to determine how to respond. For example, if it detects anxiety or frustration, it will adjust its response tone to appease the mood.”

For example, if you tell ChatGPT’s GPT-4 model: “I’m not in a good mood today,” ChatGPT will say that it is willing to listen at first, but then it will immediately give suggestions. For some friends, they may just want someone to talk to and don’t want to hear any suggestions:

PI is different, it just encourages and is willing to listen, coupled with the voice function with intonation, it seems like talking to a person:

Suleyman also added that while other chatbots will provide you with a few options to answer your question, Pi takes a conversation-centric approach. Ask Pi a question and it will likely answer only that one question. Suleyman says that in 10 or 20 conversation exchanges, Pi can tease out what users really want to know or want to discuss, acting more like a sounding board than repackaged Wikipedia answers.

Pi can remember 100 conversations with its users and supports web browsers (heypi.com), phone apps (currently iOS only), WhatsApp and Messages, Facebook Messages and Instagram DMs, something no other chatbot can do.

But it is a pity that Pi currently only supports English. Sometimes it can recognize it when talking in Chinese, and it knows what you want to ask, but it just can’t answer in Chinese and will keep saying I don’t support Chinese yet.

For example, when I asked it if it could speak Chinese, it knew what I was asking, but it could only answer in English:

The Pi chatbot is currently open to everyone for free and does not require registration (but if you have too many conversations, you will be asked to register). Those who want to play and watchPlease click here to go to Inflection official website, then press Meet Pi in the upper right corner:

Then you can enter the question you want to ask. The lower right is the voice function. It is muted by default. People who want to listen can click to open it:

As mentioned before, it cannot answer the question in Chinese. If you don’t know how to ask in English, you can ask ChatGPT to help translate:

Like this:

You can talk to Pi in English. If you don’t understand the content of Pi’s reply, you can ask ChatGPT to translate it into Chinese:

It seems that the Pi chatbot can also arrange schedules, prepare for meetings, and learn new skills. This part is for everyone to play around with.
