Gemini Goes All Out! Google’s AI Assistant Will Come to Smartwatches, TVs, Car Systems, and Head-Mounted Devices

At this year’s Google I/O developer conference, it wasn’t just minor tweaks—Google announced it’s directly expanding Gemini’s reach from phones to the entire Android ecosystem. Starting on phones, Gemini can already help you look up information, write emails, and set reminders. Now it also integrates “Gemini Live,” letting users share their screen and camera feed in real time—all without any extra cost. If you’re an Android user, it’s completely free. Going forward, these smart features will extend to even more device types, truly realizing the vision of “no matter where you are or what device you’re using, AI can lend a hand.”

In the coming months, Google will bring Gemini to the Wear OS platform. This means that even if your hands are covered in flour, you’re rushing to catch a commute, or you’re lifting weights at the gym, you can just ask Gemini to handle things for you—no hands needed, only your voice. For example, if a thought suddenly hits you during a workout, like “I put it in locker 43 today,” just say it to your watch and Gemini will set a reminder for you. Even when a friend sends you a restaurant recommendation, a simple “Is this place any good?” lets Gemini look up the info for you right away—no need to pull out your phone or tap through apps. It all happens quickly, right on your watch.

Car owners may have already gotten used to using voice commands on Android Auto to ask Google Assistant for navigation and music, but now Gemini is taking the entire driving experience to the next level. Beyond sounding more natural and understanding you better, it can do even more: for example, you can say, “Help me find a post office near a park that also has a charging station.” Gemini will then map out the route for you—not only getting things done, but also letting you squeeze in a walk and a charge at the same time.
Gemini can also integrate with the messaging in your car, helping you quickly summarize friends’ messages and even translate and reply for you.
And these features,In the coming months, it will begin rolling out gradually to Android Auto and vehicles with built-in Google services.。

Next, your TV at home is about to get smarter too. Starting in the second half of this year, TVs with Google TV will support Gemini. All you have to do is talk to your TV, and you’ll get personalized recommendations. For example, if you ask, “Are there any adventure animations suitable for elementary school students?” Gemini will recommend safe and exciting video content. You can also ask it to answer all those endless “why” questions from kids, such as “Why isn’t Pluto a planet anymore?” It won’t just explain—it will also recommend suitable educational videos on YouTube, so kids can learn while watching, and parents can take it easy.

And that’s not all! Google also announced it will bring Gemini to the new Android XR platform it’s developing with Samsung, which means future headsets and smart glasses. Imagine putting on a headset in the future and simply saying: “Help me plan a five-day, four-night independent trip to Tokyo,” and Gemini will automatically recommend itineraries based on your preferences, find attractions, arrange transportation, and even play local street view videos, making you feel like you’re actually strolling through Ginza. This immersive interactive experience is expected to officially debut on Samsung’s headset launching in the second half of this year.

Finally, Google also teased that Gemini will support more wearable devices in the future, including earbuds from Sony and Samsung. Once these earbuds are integrated with Gemini, they’ll be able to understand your voice commands, provide summaries, and quickly reply to messages—letting you “connect with the world” with just your earbuds when you’re out for a run or on the MRT.

Conclusion

Gemini isn’t just a smart assistant—it’s more like the “central system” of the future life Google envisions. From phones, watches, and cars to TVs, smart glasses, and earbuds, Gemini will be present on every Android device you can see or wear.
This wave of updates makes Android not just an operating system, but an entire ubiquitous smart living platform. In the future, no matter where you are or what you’re doing, as long as you can say it, Gemini can help you get it done. Perhaps that’s what AI should truly be like.
