This year’s Google I/O 2025 is scheduled for May 20-21, just a few weeks away. There’s still much to speculate about what will be announced at the event, but recent signs suggest the main focus will be on showcasing the next steps for Android, as well as demonstrating its efforts in AI.

Google has prepared a special edition of Gemini Pro for I/O 2025.

To give developers an early look, Google has now launched Gemini 2.5 Pro Preview (I/O Edition)It will make coding easier, including new changes such as front-end and UI development, as well as improvements to basic coding tasks like converting and editing code.

Since the introduction of AI, we have seen changes across many different industries, making mundane tasks easy to accomplish with just a little help. Google has continued to make progress with Gemini, integrating this technology into various products within its service ecosystem while also giving users a more concrete look at its versatility. Of course, coding is one area where AI truly excels, and according to Google, this strength makes Gemini 2.5 Pro the AI model of choice for developers. Additionally, Google emphasized that its new model will be able to extract information from videos and build applications based on what it learns.

Gemini 2.5 Pro can also handle the heavy lifting when taking on everyday tasks, such as changing the style and appearance of app features and coordinating themes when needed, thereby simplifying the coding workflow. You can see an example in the video below, where a prompt is created and Gemini follows the prompt to implement it.

Additionally, Google has of course made improvements to certain needs, such as reducing errors in function calls and increasing the function call trigger rate. Naturally, Gemini 2.5 Pro will have a variety of uses, and the ones mentioned in this article are just a few examples, so if you’ve been looking for new tools to try, this is worth checking out. You can access the updated Gemini API through Google AI Studio; those already using Gemini 2.5 Pro should see the new features available, and the latest model doesn’t require any additional subscription fees. We can expect to see more information on this at the Google I/O conference in a few weeks.
