Following the recent global craze over ChatGPT’s Ghibli-style conversion, it’s fair to say that more and more tools are now offering the same effect, and completely free. I just discovered a “Ghibli-style image generator” that is currently completely free to use and seems to have no limit on the number of images—you can generate as many as you like. The Ghibli-style image generator is launched by a website called ghibliphotos, and it looks like it just went live not long ago. The site doesn’t particularly specify the AI model behind it, only mentioning that

Regarding privacy, it is specifically added that all uploaded images will only be used for the generation process, and will not be stored, shared, or used for any other purpose, so users can use the service with confidence.
The only thing to note is that the generated images are for personal use only and cannot be used for commercial purposes. If you need a license, you must contact the platform to obtain one.
The usage is very simple: click the link above to enter the Ghibli-style image generator, then click “Select Image” in the middle and upload the photo or image you want to convert.
Then it will start processing, which will take a little time—about 1–2 minutes per image. Just let it run and don’t close the webpage.
After completion, the right side will show the image converted to Ghibli style. You might notice that only half of it is shown, but it’s actually the full image—it’s just because of the thumbnail. Click the download icon in the bottom right corner:

The speed of generating Ghibli-style images may also slow down as the number of users increases.
In the Q&A section, it also states: “Typically, generating an image only takes a few dozen seconds, with the exact time depending on server load and image complexity. Once the image is generated, we will send it to you via email—please check your inbox!”
It mentions an email here, but there’s currently no registration feature, and it won’t notify you after it’s generated, so this could be a sign that it will be added in the future, along with a shift to a paid model.
