Taiwan plays a key role in the global semiconductor industry. Over the past four decades, it has established its current position from venture capital, manufacturing to talent cultivation. Intel has been deeply involved in Taiwan for 40 years. This journey can continue to move forward thanks to the support of all partners, supply chains, etc. Today we are standing at a major turning point in computing technology. PC, AI, edge computing and data centers are redefining the future technology landscape.

Intel and Taiwan co-create a new era of AI: a comprehensive evolution from PCs, edge computing to data centers

Intel’s latest Core series processors combine high-performance CPUs, GPUs and low-power architecture to bring longer battery life, faster performance and stronger AI capabilities. More than 30 designs are already on the market, covering consumer, commercial and high-end mobile devices. In the gaming field, Intel launched a new GPU that provides more stable graphics, better battery life, and supports a variety of mainstream games to run smoothly at high resolution, making mobile gaming devices one of the fastest-growing categories in the PC market.

In addition to PCs, Intel is also bringing leadership processors to Edge and enterprise applications. More than 30 designs have been introduced into scenarios such as education, retail, factory automation, robots, etc. The Edge market is estimated to reach US$25 trillion in 2050, and AI will be the core force driving it all. In the data center field, Intel has launched the new Xeon 6 series, which features higher performance, better energy efficiency and stronger security, helping enterprises to process AI inference and large workloads at lower costs and at higher speeds. Through the collaborative operation of CPU and GPU, we can significantly shorten AI inference time and improve overall computing efficiency.

The next stage of AI will be “agent AI”, which does not just answer questions, but can actively assist, perform tasks, integrate data and make decisions. We demonstrated a new local AI architecture that can run multiple small models simultaneously on the device, protecting privacy, reducing costs, and collaborating with larger models in the cloud when needed. This will be an important milestone for engineers, creators and businesses.

Intel cooperates with the world’s top research institutions, including in the fields of medical care, neuroscience and manufacturing. These cooperation will promote the comprehensive implementation of AI in medical care, life sciences, industry and daily life:

  • Explore the possibility of using AI to simulate neural activity in the human brain with teams like UCSF
  • Partner with Siemens to build next-generation smart factories and automation systems
  • Develop AI servers, data centers and edge computing solutions with multiple companies

In the past year, Intel has restructured and evolved, focusing on high-performance, high-quality and high-yield products, and has made significant progress in packaging, processes, architectures and platforms. Next, the company will continue to work with global ecosystem partners to create a more efficient and influential AI computing foundation. This is just the beginning, and it looks forward to working with Taiwan and global partners to embrace the next era of technology.
