As the performance of the new generation of graphics cards becomes more and more powerful, the power consumption is not only increasing, but the size of the board is also getting larger and larger. Especially for flagship graphics cards such as RTX 4090, if the case is not big enough, it will get stuck. This must be very troublesome for some friends who do not have much space and want to use a small case. Recently, a well-known foreign YouTube channel recommended a very good water-cooling module solution. After installing this water-cooling set on the RTX 4090, the size can be greatly reduced, and the ITX case can also be installed.
This water-cooling module can significantly reduce the size of the RTX 4090 and fit it into an ITX case.
Recently, the foreign YouTube channel Optimum Tech shared a video of “the world’s thinnest and shortest RTX 4090”. They dismantled the RTX 4090 and modified it with an Alphacool ES Geforce RTX 4090 Reference Design with Backplate water-cooling module, thus significantly reducing the size of the RTX 4090 motherboard.
According to the official website, this water-cooling module is only suitable for RTX 4090, and not every model will work. Currently, there are four models that are confirmed to be compatible, all of which are models launched by INNO3D. The RTX 4090 Founder Edition is definitely not compatible:

Optimum Tech uses the INNO3D RTX 4090 iCHILL. The modification process shown in the video does not seem difficult. Just disassemble the RTX 4090, take out the motherboard, and then install a simple Alphacool ES water cooling module, and you are done:
The comparison picture shows that it is much different from the original one. It is almost half shorter. If the size is not mentioned, many people may think that it is an entry-level graphics card. In fact, it is currently the most powerful NVIDIA graphics card:

They also measured the temperature and game performance after modification. Unfortunately, it was not installed in an ITX case, but an open test platform:
Running the game “God of War™”, the temperature partially falls around 54 degrees:
“Control” is similar, so it can be said to be quite stable:
However, the actual operating temperature still depends on the radiator you use. Optimum Tech recommends using dual radiators for best performance.
Alphacool ES Geforce RTX 4090 Reference Design with Backplate currently seems to be unavailable in Taiwan, and can only be purchased through overseas purchasing and shipping services.
