Despite the name change, the RTX 4070 Ti may still have a suggested selling price of $899

Even though the so-called graphics card mining boom has receded a lot, many players still believe that the current graphics card prices are obviously too high, and more new products are needed to dilute this trend. The new card of RTX 4070 Ti (formerly known as RTX 4080 12GB), which has gone through a name change a few days ago, obviously intends to use its relatively entry-level price to attract those who want to buy a new generation architecture. Ada Lovelace graphics card users. However, since it is the former RTX 4080 12GB and has been renamed RTX 4070 Ti without changing the specifications, then the pricing is naturally not far from the original preset price range. According to current information, the suggested selling price of the Founders Edition (or Founders Edition) of the RTX 4070 Ti will be US$899, which is about NT$27,580. Considering that AIC will also revise individual product lines in the future, the cheapest price may be US$849, which is about NT$26,000.

Quasi-flagship graphics cards costing more than NT$20,000 are no stranger to today. In previous generations, due to the influence of the mining boom, there were even more outrageous market prices. Now we can see that the recommended price of the quasi-flagship card of the new architecture Ada Lovelace falls within 30,000, I believe it will still make some players consider it.

RTX 4070 Ti has the highest price/performance ratio, no worse than RTX 4080

Although the pricing result of $849 may not be officially confirmed, it currently seems to be highly credible. One is because before the name change, the graphics card called RTX 4800 12GB was rumored to be priced at $900. The second is actual performance. According to the performance information provided by NVIDIA, the RTX 4080 12GB has performance equivalent to the RTX 3080 when DLSS technology is not turned on, and it has superior performance than the RTX 3090 Ti after it is turned on.

In addition, foreign media Wccftech calculated the performance per dollar and found that the RTX 4070 Ti has a “cost-effective” performance that exceeds that of the RTX 4080 priced at $1,199. Although this level of comparison has limited reference significance for players who care about their wallets, it is still an interesting comparison.

Therefore, this name change produced some effects. The new card, originally named RTX 4080 12GB and later renamed RTX 4070 Ti, will have a better price/performance ratio than the flagship card. The current RTX 4080 (16GB) is less attractive because it is between RTX 4090 and RTX 4070 Ti. As for whether the RTX 4070 Ti will be the card of choice, it depends on NVIDIA’s subsequent launch of mid-range graphics cards such as the 60 and 50 series. After comparing the price and cost performance, the final conclusion can be reached for players who pursue budgets and must use them wisely.

RTX 4070 Ti Benchmark #1
F1 22 turns on ray tracing and maximum image quality settings at 4K resolution, and turns on DLSS technology. It can be found that the new version of DLSS is indeed of great help to the new architecture graphics card.
RTX 4070 Ti Benchmark #2
Microsoft Flight Simulator also turns on maximum image quality and DLSS at 4K resolution, and the performance of RTX 4070 Ti (i.e. 4080 12GB) is still superior to previous generation graphics cards.
RTX 4070 Ti Benchmark #3
“A Plague Tale: Requiem” also uses 4K resolution and maximum image quality settings, as well as turning off ray tracing and turning on DLSS. Even if the basic performance is inferior to the 3090 Ti, the RTX 4080 12GB can still use DLSS technology to show better performance.

Of course, those who find it difficult to accept the price of US$899 can still continue to look for mid-to-high-end RTX 30 series graphics cards. Although these graphics cards have been reluctantly reduced to slightly lower than the original price after a long time, they are at least more cost-effective than the RTX 40 series graphics cards. Friends who are still pursuing new architecture and new technologies can set their sights on the current RTX 4070 Ti or the future RTX 4060 series. I believe that this calculation is relatively reasonable at this stage.
