The convenient music player function that can be quickly accessed in the system notification bar should be a functional experience that can be used by most device systems for a long time. With the devices supported by smart phone/tablet systems, from previous 3.5mm devices to Bluetooth audio devices, all the way to devices such as smart TVs and smart speakers can support the purpose of playing audio and even videos. There are also many systems that have enhanced such quick playback functions, providing more options for their audio device switching functions.
Although it feels surprisingly late to provide the integration function of Chromecast devices in the native system? But better late than never. Recently, foreign media discovered that the Android 13 system seems to have begun to provide developers with the flexibility to include Chromecast devices in the device list in the Android system’s quick play function.
Speaking of similar functions that support the original device list, other smartphone systems, including Apple AirPlay devices, have been integrated with iOS for a long time. Some people even responded to people who discovered this function on Twitter and believed that they had already been using it in other Android customized systems. However, it is said that this has appeared since the Android 11 system was launched for testing, and the native support for including Chromecast in the audio device list seems to have finally been implemented in the Android 13 system.
Although it is said that developers still need to enable the new version of Google Cast SDK support in order for the audio device list in the quick play function provided by the App to list playback supported devices such as Chromecast, Google TV, and Google Home/Nest. But I believe that as long as developers see such convenient support, they will be happy to enable it, right?

That is to say, even though this seems to be just an SDK update, it makes people feel that it should not be limited to too new system versions (plus it was originally said to be supported by Android 11). However, for now, this support seems to be only natively supported by Android 13 systems (excluding custom UIs from other brands). I wonder if Google will be willing to extend support in the future?
