Google recently added a new experimental model called “Personalized” to its AI assistant Gemini. The Personalized model can record users’ search history and personal preferences to provide responses that better meet their needs, purportedly enhancing the Gemini experience. In addition, Gemini will also integrate with other Google apps such as Google Photos in the future, allowing Gemini to better understand users’ preferences.
Google Gemini launches “Personalized” model! Recommends tailored content based on your search history.
Google announced a new model called “Personalized” for Gemini, powered by Gemini 2.0 Flash Thinking Experimental. When using the Personalized model, Gemini will record users’ search history and preferences on Google, and provide recommendations tailored to users’ needs based on this data.
For example, when asking Gemini for restaurant or travel recommendations, Gemini will provide suitable restaurants and tourist attractions based on the user’s usual search habits.
The Personalized model allows Gemini to remember users’ interests and preferences, such as work, hobbies, or life goals, and can even remember your allergens.
The Personalized model also records your previous chat history with Gemini, so when you mention it later, you can continue the discussion from where you left off.
Previously, when Google added the Gemini 2.0 Flash Thinking Experimental with apps model, Gemini was already able to integrate with YouTube and Google Maps, letting you play YouTube videos directly in Gemini. In the future, Gemini will also integrate with Calendar, Notes, Tasks, and Photos, after which it will be able to view photos from your recent trips and create travel itineraries based on the places you’ve visited, or you can ask Gemini to pull up information to see when your driver’s license expires.
