Therefore, it was not until recently that Android began to introduce the new function of smart audio switching after Google Play Services v31.22.
This feature is marked in the notes as “Device Connectivity: [Phone] Switches Bluetooth audio peripherals between supported phones and watches for calls.” in this update. Although some foreign media think this is a bit too late, it can support the function of quickly switching Bluetooth audio connections between mobile phones and smart watches. I believe that for friends with multiple devices on their bodies, it will be more convenient when they need to answer calls.
Although judging from the notes on the update list, this feature seems to be limited to answering calls. However, according to news from the official blog a few months ago, after Google followed up with the iOS fast pairing function to bring the Fast Pair function, it also announced that it would bring a fast switching function that can support multiple Android devices. In short, users will be able to say goodbye to the trouble of having to enter the settings interface to switch to the Bluetooth audio device they are using when using another device.
This experience will automatically switch Bluetooth audio sources based on the user’s various usage characteristics. Even different types of applications on front and rear linked devices will react.
For example, when you listen to music or watch a movie on your tablet, the audio will be automatically transferred from the Android phone you are originally connected to to the tablet you are currently using. If sound effects such as notifications appear on the phone, the existing listening experience will not be interrupted and the sound will be linked back to the phone. But if the phone rings at this time, the phone will switch back to the incoming call so that the user can quickly use the headset to answer the call.
That is, if you feel that such smart switching does not meet your requirements – maybe the device has been used by others. Because every time you switch, a notification linking to other devices will pop up. If you don’t like it, just choose not to connect immediately to avoid the sound being stolen by other devices.
