Just last Friday, many Twitter users said they noticed a new button after posting that allows them to make changes to the content of their posts. This latest change also surprised many users, and the official Twitter account also explained the situation through a message. According to them, the “Edit Posts” function has officially entered the testing phase and is currently open to a small number of Twitter users for early access. To avoid any controversy, Twitter stressed that the upcoming feature would not have a major impact on users.

This new feature does exactly what it sounds like, giving users the opportunity to make changes to the content of their officially published posts. Before this, if a user made a typo or incorrect content when publishing a post, they could only delete it and repost it, or repost it to explain the error in the content. However, there are of course some limitations to this feature. At this stage, users can only make a limited number of modifications within 30 minutes of posting, and after modifications, a complete editing record will be left below the post. Twitter said the restrictions were to protect “the integrity of the conversation” and create an open and transparent record of information.
At present, the Twitter post editing function is only open to a small number of users for testing, but Twitter officials have not clearly explained the scale of this test. However, this limited test won’t last long. Over the next few weeks, editing features will gradually become available to all Twitter Blue subscribers. As for whether this feature will be fully open to all users in the future, it is still unknown.
Twitter officials stated that this post editing feature will bring a “more convenient and less stressful” experience to users of the platform, and hope that they will be able to participate in community conversations in the way they want.
