Although it is still in the beta version, it is uncertain whether it will eventually be introduced into the official version of iOS 16. However, many friends who have developer testing qualifications (eh… the public beta version should be coming soon), after updating to the latest Beta version, almost all of them exclaimed, “The battery percentage is back!” Continue reading iPhone can directly see the battery % number again! When the iPhoneCaptain America Chris Evans, who got a new iPhone, said: He misses the Home button and the new iPhone is too heavy). Another thing that may be a little difficult to adapt to is that the bangs occupy a lot of space in the status bar, causing the battery % number that could be placed next to the battery icon to disappear (shock).

This results in users who are extremely sensitive to changes in battery power having to open the Control Center to see how much power the iPhone currently has. For people like us who need to test the phone, we can only keep sliding open the Control Center to confirm the battery status.

After 5 generations of iPhones, Apple may have finally received the opinions of power-sensitive users. In the battery setting options of iOS 16 Beta 5, it once again provides a battery percentage (Battery Percentage) activation switch that is only available for the bangs-less model (is this considered a “decentralized” specification of the iPhone SE 3~eh).

Seriously, the design of iOS 16 Beta 5 for iPhone models with bangs is still a little different – Apple puts the battery percentage number in the middle of the battery icon. Although many mobile phone brands have adopted similar designs, some foreign media have updated it and believe that because of Apple’s design, even if the battery reaches only 10%, the battery icon will still be completely full, instead of using an icon to roughly show the full state of the battery in the past, which will suddenly cause confusion for people who have the habit of quickly checking the battery (after all, it may take a little longer to see the “number” clearly). He also said that he had mistaken 50% for 5G.

That is to say, since it is still in the beta version stage, there should be the possibility of changes in such design and model support – it is said that iPhone XR, iPhone 11, iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 13 mini do not support this display setting. In fact, I can’t think of any reason why it cannot be provided (after all, it seems wrong to say it is because of the small screen… Speaking of old times, 13 mini is obviously a new machine…), I always think it should be temporary, right?

In fact, other brands also have designs with numbers and battery level icons, and there don’t seem to be many problems. If Apple was really afraid of confusing users, it would have allowed users to choose whether to activate the battery percentage.

In short, seeing that iOS’s addition of battery percentage for Face ID models has caused a sensation in the global media, it can actually be seen that everyone has been clamoring for this display feature for a long time. Just pray that Apple will be willing to still provide such an option in the official version.
