Complete reviews of Intel Core i7-13700K and Core i5-13600K revealed, with significantly improved performance and higher power consumption

It seems that Intel’s 13th generation Raptor Lake processor has not been kept secret very well. In addition to the previous benchmark scores of many models appearing on Geekbench,i9-13900K tested in China, i7-13700K and Core i5-13600K are no exception. They were also reviewed earlier by the same Chinese Bilibili channel. Just like the previous benchmark data, the performance has been greatly improved compared to the previous generation, but the power consumption has also become much higher.

Intel Core i7-13700K and Core i5-13600K complete reviews exposed

China’s Bilibili channel “EP Extreme Gamer Hall” recently shared a video of “Intel 13th generation Core i5-13600K/i7-13700 first test on the entire network!” It is also divided into two parts, performance benchmarking and game testing. Game testing is not available this time and will be shared in the next video.

Before we start looking at the benchmark results, let’s take a brief look at the specifications of the i7-13700K and Core i5-13600K.

It is expected that like the previous generation, the Intel Core i7-13700K will be the fastest Core i7 version in Raptor Lake and will be equipped with 16 cores (8 P-Core + 8 E-Core) and 24 threads. The current i7-12700KF is a combination of 8 P-Core and 4 E-Core for a total of 12 cores. At the same time, the L3 cache of the i7-13700K has also been increased to 30 MB, and there is an additional 24 MB of L2 cache, for a total of 54 MB of cache. The base clock is 3.4 GHz and the overclocked clock is 5.40 GHz.

The Intel Core i5-13600K has a total of 14 cores and 20 threads, consisting of 6 P-Cores and 8 E-Cores. Compared with the i5-12600K, the number of P-Cores is the same and the number of E-Cores is doubled. In terms of cache, it is equipped with 24 MB of L3 and 20 MB of L2, for a total of 44 MB of cache. The base clock is 3.5 GHz and can be overclocked up to 5.2 GHz.

During the test, the difference between DDR5 and DDR4 was also compared, with the ASRock Z690 Steel Legend WiFi 6E motherboard, so there were a total of four data, and the results also proved that DDR5 can achieve better performance.

The CPU-Z Bench test shows that using DDR5 memory, the Core i7-13700K single-core performance increases by 10%, and multi-core performance reaches 34%. DDR4 is an improvement of 10% and 32%:

Using DDR5 memory Core i5-13600K increases single-core performance by 5%, and multi-core performance reaches 40.56%. DDR4 is an improvement of 5% and 39.07%:

In the CineBench R20 part, the Core i7-13700K single core increased by more than 9%, and if multi-core uses DDR5, it can reach 28.27%:

i5-13600K has an improvement of more than 5% in single core, and more than 38% in multi-core:

Geekbench performance is similar. Core i7-13700K’s single-core improvement is more than 8%. If multi-core uses DDR5, it can reach 26.43%:

i5-13600K uses more DDR5 in single core, with an improvement of more than 7.26%, and multi-core also reaches more than 26.2%:

Overall, the i7-13700K improved by 12% in single-core testing and 32.7% in multi-core testing. The i5-13600K also saw a 9.6% improvement in single core. Multi-core average improvement of 34%:

Although the performance has been improved a lot, the power consumption has also increased relatively. Through the AIDA64 FPU test, the i7-13700K has increased to 243.51W, which is much higher than the 188.15W of the current i7-12700K. The i5-13600K also reaches 177.8W, which is higher than the 148W of the i5-12600K:
