What’s interesting is that after someone on Weibo posted a screenshot of his 10,000-word novel being locked by WPS Office for no reason, saying “the file contains prohibited content and access is prohibited.” WPS Office quickly issued a solemn statement through the community, claiming that the application does not operate the user’s documents; subsequent investigations even pointed out that the other party was suspected of violating the rules by sharing online file links, and considered this “purely misleading.”
I mean, this is actually a pretty smart statement. After all, if it turns out that the document has been posted on the Internet, everyone’s doubts will gradually become quieter (at least in China)?
However, as the core of the news incident reported by the Chinese media “IT Business News Network” “WPS is exposed to delete users’ local files”, it is said that the netizen who posted the Weibo article made a clarification, mentioning that he had not shared the files, and the customer service of WPS Office was also very clear about this. Because the other party later assisted in unlocking the file, it was confirmed that it was not due to sharing or violation of regulations, and even the customer service even apologized.
As a result, the company’s public relations claimed that the user was suspected of violating the rules after sharing the content online.
