A few days ago, reports from abroad revealed that Apple would announce new products. Unexpectedly, that might not be the only wave. Earlier, foreign media reported that there would be another wave at the end of the month, meaning Apple will have two waves of new product announcements this month, covering everything from smart home and Mac to iPad. Therefore, those planning to buy Apple products might want to wait a bit.

A new-generation OLED iPad mini is also rumored to arrive in October, though it’s still unclear which wave it will fall into.

It’s still unclear whether Apple will launch these products at an event or just issue a press release or something.
However, Gurman previously wrote in his Power On newsletter that “Apple is planning to hold an event,” suggesting that for the mid-month one, Apple appears to intend to hold a launch event. MacRumors added, though, that it is still unclear whether it will be a full event video or changed to a press release plus a few short clips.

And among all the upcoming products, the all-new smart home hub (tentatively called HomePad) is arguably the most anticipated.
According to Bloomberg, this product will have an approximately 6-inch square screen, mounted on an adjustable stand, with a circular metal speaker base underneath. There is also a wall-mounted version codenamed J491, with a thinner base that sits flush directly below the screen.
It can recognize the different members of a household and display each person’s content individually. It can also be used to make FaceTime calls, control smart home appliances, and run the all-new operating system homeOS, with an interface that includes clock styles and widgets.
The OLED high-end MacBook in the second wave is also generating considerable discussion, tentatively called the MacBook Ultra. This will be the first time a Mac uses OLED, offering better contrast and color performance than the current mini-LED.

Gurman previously reported that the MacBook Ultra will also be the first Mac with a touchscreen, the notch will be replaced by the Dynamic Island from iPhone, and the hinge will be strengthened to prevent wobbling when fingers tap the screen. This is the first redesign of the high-end MacBook Pro since 2021, and it comes in 14-inch and 16-inch sizes.
