After Huawei made its watches the world’s No. 1 seller, it is launching its fall new products directly in Taiwan. On September 30, HUAWEI announced that, according to IDC’s 2026 first-half global wearable devices market report, its wearables remained No. 1 worldwide in shipments, with market share surpassing 20%; at the same event, it announced that the WATCH GT 7 series smartwatches and FreeBuds Neo true wireless earbuds will launch in Taiwan on October 1, with the WATCH GT 7 Pro priced at NT$17,990, the WATCH GT 7 at NT$12,990, and the FreeBuds Neo at NT$4,990.

The Confidence Behind Being the World’s Number One in Smartwatches
IDC’s quarterly report on global wrist-worn devices shows that Huawei topped shipments in the first quarter of 2026 with a 20.2% market share, ahead of second-place Apple at 17.0% and third-place Xiaomi at 16.9%; in the second quarter, overall global wrist-worn market shipments fell 4.3% year over year, but Huawei continued to lead, with IDC singling out new products such as the Watch Fit 5 series and Ultimate Design as supporting momentum. The same report also highlighted the market’s direction: first-quarter global wrist-worn shipments reached 47.05 million units, with smartwatches growing 4.8% and bands declining 6.1%, as demand clearly concentrated toward mid-to-high-end watches—exactly aligning with Huawei’s current push into advanced sports watches. Since 2024, Huawei has repeatedly taken the lead in the global wearable market, and this time it is riding the momentum to bring the “New Style on Your Wrist” GT 7 series to the Taiwan market.

WATCH GT 7 Pro: The Titanium and Ceramic Flagship
The GT 7 Pro is this release’s craftsmanship showcase: an aerospace-grade titanium case, a nano-microcrystalline ceramic bezel, and a 1.47-inch sapphire crystal up front, with peak screen brightness of 3,000 nits so information stays readable even in bright outdoor light. It comes in three colorways—Carbon Crystal Black, Wilderness Yellow, and Pine Frost Green—with a 55.5 g case and a fluororubber EasyCross easy-clasp strap, whose hidden tuck-away design keeps the strap tail from dangling outside.

Sports and health specs are equally maxed out: it supports freediving to a maximum depth of 40 meters (including breath-hold training and hang timer), golf mode provides slope-compensated distances and course maps, and ECG electrocardiogram analysis generates a report after holding the side electrode for about 30 seconds. The watch has multiple built-in sensors, including barometric pressure, temperature, depth, and ECG. Positioning supports multi-satellite systems such as GPS L1+L5 dual-band and BeiDou tri-band, making outdoor track recording more stable. Battery life lasts up to 21 days in light usage, 12 days in normal usage, and 7 days with always-on display enabled, while outdoor sports mode can last 51 hours.

WATCH GT 7: Two Sizes, Six Colorways
The standard GT 7 comes in two sizes: the 46mm has Radiant Blue, Speed Yellow, and Shadow Black, while the 41mm has Clear Blue, Cherry Blossom Pink, and Vibrant White. The case is stainless steel, and the display offers the same 3,000-nit peak brightness. The 46mm is 1.47 inches, just like the Pro, while the 41mm is 1.32 inches. For battery life, the 46mm lasts up to 21 days and the 41mm up to 14 days, with outdoor sports mode lasting 51 and 32 hours respectively. Weight is about 51.3 g for the 46mm and about 36.5 to 37.6 g for the 41mm. Both support 5 ATM water resistance plus IP69, dual-band multi-system satellite positioning, NFC, and Bluetooth 6.0, and are compatible with iOS and Android phones.

From climb planning to mood tracking
This generation has added quite a few details to its workout features. Smart Cycling now includes climb planning: after a route is imported to the watch, it displays the elevation profile and climb segment information, alerts you during the ride to each segment’s distance, elevation gain, and average gradient, and gives real-time warnings when you approach sharp turns. Running adds running power and running form data such as left/right ground contact balance and vertical oscillation. There are also “Wrist Micro-Workouts” covering 10 body parts and 30 exercises, so you can get moving even in spare moments; the entire series supports more than 110 sport modes.

On the health side, there is a daily “Body State Readiness” score, HRV heart rate variability monitoring, TruSleep 5.0 sleep analysis, and an emotion app that can sense 12 emotional states; through the Health Care Circle in the Huawei Health App, you can also share sleep, heart rate, and activity data with friends and family. Daily smart features are also complete: Bluetooth calling with raise wrist to answer, wrist recording with one-key capture of meeting highlights, and weather queries that prompt temperature changes, UV index, and sunset glow probability, so those chasing sunsets can take a look before heading out. The official note specifically states these features are not for medical use, and the data is for personal reference only.
FreeBuds Neo: 4.8-gram little ears
The concurrently launched FreeBuds Neo takes a lightweight approach, weighing about 4.8 grams per earbud with a short-stem design, and comes in four colors: Galaxy Silver, Nebula Pink, Starry Black, and Zero White. It features a third-generation audio chip and smart adaptive noise cancellation that automatically adjusts noise cancellation intensity based on the environment, with up to 30dB full-band noise cancellation depth; the earbuds themselves are IP55 dust- and water-resistant, and support Bluetooth 6.0, simultaneous dual-device connection, and pop-up pairing when the case is opened.

Battery life: about 6.5 hours on a single charge with noise cancellation on, about 10 hours with it off, and up to 40 hours total with the charging case (noise cancellation off). The spec sheet lists an 11mm multi-porous balanced dynamic driver, frequency response of 20Hz to 40kHz, and support for spatial audio and multiple equalizers. Controls use touch gestures: double-tap to play or answer, swipe to adjust volume, and long-press to switch noise cancellation modes. The charging case uses USB-C, and the earbuds and case take about 70 minutes to charge fully together. The box includes four sizes of silicone ear tips: large, medium, small, and extra small.
